2nd time Falco owner !!!!

#1 Post by sherlock308 » Mon May 20, 2013 9:01 pm

Chaps,

Going to pick up a 2005 red and black Falco 1750 ish miles on the clock tomorrow can't wait.

I had a bronze and black one in '05 with more shiny bits than you can think of.

Vtr sidestand , Maxton rear shock aprilia luggage, belly pan, hugger, double bubble, pazzo's, res covers, etc etc.

And so it begins .....

Vtr sidestand has been ordered and I remember welding a bit to the top of it so it didn't go too far forward does anyone know how much metal needs to be added ?

Also on the lookout for bellypan and hugger and any form of luggage if anyone can assist.

Thanks

Sherlock :smt002

Welcome back Sherlock, glad you came back.
I did something similar, I bought a black one in 2004.
Regularly went away and left it in the garage, but never got any further away, so I'm still stuck with it, (nice!).

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

How do fella. :smt006 I saw your name pop up a few days ago and wondered if you was going to sit on the fence... More do than post :smt003
With such a list of work already done to your previous falco we obviously don't need to know your credit rating.
And with buying such a low mileage example, the previous owner(s) must have just popped to the shop on the bike.
Right for a belly pan you can use..... http://www.skidmarx.co.uk/ .
They call them fairing lowers and the part is made from fibreglass.
If you fancy something a little more flashy.... http://www.motopike.com/index.php?route ... on/contact .
This company makes carbon fibre ones.
I can recommend the skidmarx one for quality and fitment.
I have ordered a carbon one from motopike but waiting for the part to be made. (They make to order)
For a Hugger these make good quality components and I can recommend them. http://www.pyramid-plastics.co.uk/ .
On another note if you want an aftermarket screen the pyramid plastics one is better quality in fitment and finish over the skidmarx one.
Obviously life has just got better for you with your new purchase.... Enjoy :smt112

i have the motopike carbon fiber bellypan got it a fortnight ago had to wait 4 weeks for it to be delivered which wasnt too bad, how ever i did have to file of about 10mm of the top to make it fit.

the bolt holes directly beneath the fairing were out of position if i had bolted it on as it was the belly pan would have over lapped the faring by 10mm so it was out with the dremel and a file

it does look really nice but for 200 quid i would have expected a better fit
if you unscrew your belly button will your bum fall off??

Hi Sherlock - I did the VTR mod. You need a blob of weld about the size of a pea. I still needed to file it down a little, square off the edges etc. Fine and dandy since then.

Thanks for the replies,

I picked up the falco on Tuesday I'd forgotten what my elbows looked like !
The bikes like new and pulls like a train as well as cramp in my legs also had cramp in my chns grinning so much.

Just ordered some blue flame cans and the vtr stand comes tomorrow. I found my old post from '06 as well as the blob of weld on leg I welded a bit on the foot making it half as big again.

My ebay watch list is looking ridiculous.

Ah well as long as the other half doesn't see it should he ok.

Take it easy

Sherlock
No shit Sherlock !
