That's a dreadful piece of engineering. How can anyone who calls himself an engineer design and sell a dangerous piece of shit like that? I also notice that the numbskull doesn't even use metric sized threads and fasteners for aftermarket parts on Italian bike - he uses Imperial (i.e. 1/2") threads. Idiot.

OMG that is terrible i am a engineer and i would be ashamed if i had put my name to that awful piece of crap, there really should be more control over what can and cant be sold online and internationally.

i work in the aerospace sector i design components for Airbus and even the smallest most insignificant part has to pass very stringent testing and "first article inspection reports" before its even allowed any where near a aircraft.

there should be something similar in place for the auto industry, at the end of the day any item you fit to a car or bike has the potential to cause a accident
if you unscrew your belly button will your bum fall off??

I've not seen that he does - and even if he does, we have the ridiculous situation that an Engineer is not a protected title - so anyone can call themselves one and there is no legal requirement for a particular level of competence to practice.
A relatively small number of us are Chartered Engineers but that doesn't actually give us any additional rights to practice (in fact we have less rights in our fields of expertise than certain tradespeople - an electrician qualified in codes of practice for installation can install wiring etc but an Engineer who actually understands what they are doing can't legally do the same in their own home).

The case under discussion is a case in point as to why Engineering should be a protected profession - lives depend on an Engineer's skill at least as much as in any other profession.

I'm no engineer but I understand the strength of triangulation, as should anyone that anyone that sells something that is supposedly 'engineered'
To subject such a small connective fastener, in a mis aligned triangulation, subjected to increasing stress loads.....
Thats like selling firearms to kids with free methamphetamine with every purchase.
