Oil Filter O Ring Size

#1 Post by azureape » Sat May 11, 2013 4:37 pm

Afternoon folks.
It's that time to start getting the old bird fit for purpose. Got all the servicing bits but not an O Ring for the oil filter. Can someone tell me the correct size for this part and a good supplier of suitable O rings? Or I could make the journey to Newcombes at Chelmsford I suppose.
Haven't been out on the steed yet this month due to work but really looking forward to get out again. Off to the BSB at Snetterton in July so if any of you are going keep a look out for my trusty shiny blue bird.

The original will survive a filter change or two if it's not sujected to severe kak handedness.
If you are worried about leaks then use a thin smear of gasket compound on the OUTSIDE of the O ring, taking care no goo gets to the inside of the ring
Read and obey any instuctions given with gasket compound, you dont want this shit in your oilways

Cheers Fatboy, it was fine the last time I changed the oil so hopefully it will be suitable to go back on this time. I just like to be prepared in case it 's perished.
