belly pan

#1 Post by kff30 » Sat Apr 13, 2013 7:39 pm

hi all

have just bought my first falco (i was a falco virgin until last week) love the bike to bits have already started doing a few little bits to her to make her my own (sharks fin, chain guard, bobbins) but the one big thing i really want to do is the belly pan, i love the look of the bike with the belly pan on.

so after all that waffling here is my question does any one know of a good place to buy the belly pan and is there any thing i have to watch out for when buying one, as this will be a large outlay for me as i will also get it sprayed to match the rest of the bike i dont want to get a crap one or a badly fitting one
if you unscrew your belly button will your bum fall off??

Belly Pan...

#2 Post by GregD-UK » Sat Apr 13, 2013 7:53 pm

Hi all,

Welcome Kff30 :) Look on Sidmarks website for a "Lower Fairing." Good choice and well made as well. Make sure you sort out the side stand issue as well, if not already done....
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

The standard side stand is a well-known weak point on the bike (one of very few, it has to be said). Yours may well have already been upgraded, but it's worth checking. The OE sidestand is both too upright and too close to the bike's centre line, so in high winds the bike can fall over in either direction...

Do a search on "side stand" in the Falco section and all will be revealed...

I just recently fitted a Skidmarx belly pan and am really pleased with it. Recommended.

That chain guard and shark fin...each to his own hey. :smt002

Hello :smt006

I bought a skidmarx belly pan last year. Fitting is easier if you loosen the middle panels off first. I still had to tweak a couple of the holes on mine though.

Sort the sidestand before painting the belly pan as you may have to trim it a bit so a more reasonably angled stand than the stock one will clear it on the way down.

Motopike have carbon ones as well if carbon is your sort of thing.
Where ever I lay my hat.....
