Tyres - north east only

For geographical reasons. No southern bias

Has anyone had tyres done either on or off their bikes recently.

I looked at MS motorcycles and they were charging £39.95 to change on the the bike.

At £200 a pair and then that on top it's starting to push the limits.

Take the wheels in loose, that should reduce the cost. what tyres are you looking for?

Pirelli Angel ST's and I don't like the idea of removing the wheels, not really set up for it.

I change my own as I grudge they kind of prices, use a static balancer which obviously isn't as comprehensive as a garages expensive one but it does the job.
Think in all it cost me around £30...

Hi all,

What about hunter's "On the hill," tony? Give them a ring, see loads of guys take their wheels in there to change tyres....

Must be reasonable rates I guess. Again, have an abba stand you could lend :smt002

I'll make some more enquieries, got a while yet and I will speak to Ian Bell, that's where I got the bike from, he fitted my shock for nothing so he is a good bet for more work.

Tyre Spot on Sandy Lane do a 'ride in - ride out' tyre change. I used to take loose wheels there and always had good service/price. My dad has used them to do the wheel removal too (he's also used North Eastern Tyres on Middle Engine Lane, Wallsend who do a ride in-ride out).

Round by us it's £230 a pair, ride in - ride out for more or less whatever tyres you fancy.

Hunters only sell the tyres now. ... they direct you to Westgate super bikes now to get them fitted as he bought all their the fitting kit but hunters often give good prices. . Just before bought the falco bought a set of maxxis for my other bike

Personnally I think £40 to change 2 tyres on the bike is reasonable. You want people to work for nothing?

Why not I do ;) or yes when they're doing stuff for me !
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

What are the pirelli angels like then? I am using the Bridgestone BT023's at the mo, for longevity.....

I've got Angel STs on one of my sets of rims. I think they are good tyres and seem to be wearing well (nowhere near worn out yet - and no idea how far they've been as I change between my different wheels that have different tyres - so don't really know how far each have been)
