lidl bike gear

#1 Post by Aladinsaneuk » Tue Feb 26, 2013 7:01 am

starts this thursday

http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg//lid ... =3&nf=TRUE

if you want a decent lid, then I would suggest that you get there VERY early - I was first in line when I got mine

I cannot swear to it, but i believe these are rebadged cabergs - and i have been very impressed with mine

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Yes last week I spotted the bike stuff was coming in - TBH a bit of a disappointing range this time.

Aldi usually follows suit within a week or two so will have to see whether they have more stuff.

Yeah I am disappointed too. Both Aldi and Lidl seem to have reduced the range somewhat.

Aldi's textile stuff is good

Lidl's base layer stuff is very good value

The boots are good - though the fit is thin

err they fit me - I take a wide shoe fitting and my legs are on the "sturdy" side

I bought the helmet from Lidle. Pretty good lid and fantastic value comes with two visors and all at just about half the price of a visor from some other manufacturers!
Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can enjoy today

I poppped in to Lidl today for some other stuff and was pleased to see they still had a lot of the flip front helmets .... so I had a look and was very pleased with what I saw ... nice matt black finish, 2 anti fog visors, spare padding, helmet bag - and what clinched the deal for me was the flip-down sun-visor.
Dug down to the boxes in the stack to get one that had not been fiddled with or bounced and then unlocked the debit card (no, it was not covered in cobwebs - the old one had expired and this one arrived last week!)

I now have an "everyday" helmet (for which I have to find storage space)

Ah

Just wondered if the helmet was going to color co-ordinate with the pubes

That's strange Andy, it's almost excactly what I did when they were in last year.
I got in just after opening, got an unopened box from the bottom tried it and bought it. Mine was also matt black, (seems you have a Dark Side as well).
Have used mine quite a lot this year as an alternative to my Arai, and for the price I have been very happy.
The best thing for me has also been the flip down sun visor, wish the Arai had one.
Whenever I go out for an evening ride in summer, I go out east to places like Willingham or South Leverton, then ride back west into a low setting sun.
This flip down visor is brilliant in that situation, because when the sun goes behind a hill or you go between some trees it goes very dark and you can just flip the visor up and down when needed.
P.S. I also have a storage problem as I have two Arais on the shelf, and this new "Crivit" helmet is still stored in a box on the floor!
I did find it noisy without the padded ear piece bits fitted, (gap left so you can fit speakers or whatever).
Quieter with these in and also better still now I have swapped the summer skirt for the winter option, which leaves it still easy to get on and off, especially if you flip it open first. I did add a bit more Velco to my ear pads, as they sometimes came out when I took the helmet off.
I mainly bought it originally as a "winter" helmet and used it a lot late last year, plus on the 4 ocasions I have been out this year it has still been great to have the sun visor, as when the sun does come out, it is low and distracting.

Hope you enjoy yours.
