#1 Post by lazarus » Wed Jan 09, 2013 7:19 pm

grumble. only had the bike a couple of months and the battery has gone phut. trying to start brings a loud clunk and everything goes dead. volts at the terminals drops to 7.5. and bought privately so no come back.

anyone recommend a good on line battery source? bit surprised by the high prices, like £40!!! :smt022

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

. . if not at the cheaper end of what's available.

Don't skimp; get the best you can afford. In this case, cheap will definitely be false economy

Loads of acessory shops, Busters, MPS, Bitzforbikes,Demon Tweaks,Wemoto,Bikerfix....
Do a google search for the battery type, Im sure you will get more than enough suggestions to compare prices, but then again the price of bloody everything is rocketing
Fully agree with MartDude, a cheap battery wont last long, then again I've had expensive ones fail qiucktime.

I got one of these last year and so far it has been fine, no starting problems at all.
It is always plugged in to an optimiser when not running.

I bought mine from Wemoto.

Motobatt MBTX12U

Excellent battery. Cant fault it.

It even came with two spacers to fit under my boots so I could reach to drop the battery in the hole.. well that's what Pete said they were for.. it worked too..

Actually the Motobatt is a good bit of kit, there are tappings on the front and rear of the battery so no need to worry about terminal orientation, also comes with 2 adaptors so connections can be made to side or top of teminal, its gell filled so you could even fit it upside down,if somehow you feel you have to.
As Tim said, the spacer provided makes it compatible with differing heights.
