The fob lights up when the button is pushed but the alarm system will not bleep/immobilise.
I am thinking of having the system removed or have i over looked something

Someone has already removed it....
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

What alarm is it?

Battery in the key fob may not have enough power to arm or dis arm the system but just enough to make the light flash ?

I've never had an alarm fitted to any bike I own, and see no reason to change that view. They give the owner a false sense of security and are more trouble than they are worth.
IMHO, of course...

Having gone through as many alarms as I have (including wifies failing in the Alps), I say trash the thing.
Hate them with a vengeance
Happy Christmas to all my readers

Is it a Datatool you have Jay?
Mine on the Kwack officially goes to "sleep" when it has been on for a long while without resetting, (often at this time of year).
It should be possible to wake it up, but if that fails turn the ignition on and that will instantly bring the alarm siren on.
The plipper will work OK to switch the alarm off and on again.
After that it will be back to normal again.

Tried that Howard but no joy. I have had one already removed from the silver/white bike. I think they are rubbish. It cost me 70 quid to have one removed before so looks like my xmas money is already spent.

Not all are rubbish. I've been very happy with my Meta alarm - bought it second hand and fitted it soon after I bought the bike 7 and a 1/2 years ago.
That said I've heard so many bad reports that I'd never fit a Datatool (although some have had them without issue)

Had a problem with my meta on an old bike. Was well fitted so had to strip the whole loom to remove...
Then i found out that you can bridge certain parts inside the alarm to bypass it. Just google the alarm model and "bypass"...

This is a datatool alarm. J and S at Doncaster have quoted 50 quid to remove it.
Although that said i have told them the panels have been removed which they have.
They reckon half an hour and the bike will be sorted.

I have been in the garage this afternoon to investigate where the leads from the alarm system run too.
I decided to peel back the electrical tape and expose the wires.
All i will say is now is the falco starts. Managed to save myself 50 quid...Well happy
