Can I retrieve pics from dead Nokia C3 ?
Title says it all, screen dead so cant acess menu.
All icons on lower screen have moved over to the right, hence there is no BACK option, menu has opened some app (on its own) but I cant close it,
Screen is too far gone to re calibrate (tried in local mobile garage )
Throwing it across the room also didnt help

I've tried the last option a few time, it makes you feel better but rarely helps!
A silly question ...
Are the pictures stored in phone memory or on a removable micro SD card?
If on memory card you can obviously just remove the card and read on a PC or whatever.
Usually need an adaptor of multi card reader with a micro SD.

I think that there are various options and as DR says many phones respond to having the battery pulled whilst powered up... like restarting the PC.
You may have to leave it off for varying times to get any response but if you are able to get access then get your data off quick and take it to Nokia and then get it repaired if under warranty.
Once repaired sell it and get a proper phone ;)
Other things you could try are to see if there is bluetooth activated or any desktop software that you could back up to (same as itunes for the iphoner etc) Once backed up try hard reset on the phone and then restore the data and again

If the photos etc. are really important to you, you could look at getting the screen replaced.
My daughter had a similar problem just before she swapped her old contract I-Phone for her Galaxy S2 a while ago.
Apple have their shops and she got the screen replaced at Meadowhall for £80, which was a lot, but having forgotten all about it for a year she dug it out and sold it on eBay for £80 a week or so ago, so she got her money back.
Don't know of any Nokia stores but if the stuff is important it might be worth getting a quote.
Otherwise Andy's idea could just work, I've seen it done before.
Good luck!!

This thread may help you - a lot of people with similar issues and a couple of things that might sort out your touchscreen.
The code that allows you to reformat .... not sure whether they mean recalibrate your screen or reset your phone (hopefully the former)
The removal of the sticky layer sounds hopeful too

Obviously this is only what I've found by searching - I'm not saying these things will work for you.

its probably not the screen but a digitizer or some such piece of crappy hardware thats failed. The screen itself is what it is a picec of plastic fancy plastic I grant yuou but not sure changing the screen will do much youd be better getting a ziplock bag fill it with rice stick the thing in the freezer for a couple of hours then take it out boot it up quickly and if you get in get what you want and go

Ah - thought you were referring to the discussion in the link I posted - completely agree that swapping the screen itself is very unlikely to helpflatlander wrote:HMnnnn I wonder if the search function .....fatboy wrote:Thanks for the replies, the bloody thing is out of warranty, took it to a repair shop, the guy could not re calibrate the touch screen settings, said it is too
