Tuono Conversion

I keep thinking about doing the Tuono conversion to my falco. Dunno why, just fancy a change I think.

Anyway, I'm not sure the Falco front end works with it and prefer the (old) tuono front end. Does anyone know what parts I'd need to do it, bar conversion, fairing etc etc? I'd like to have it so I swap back as required. Early days and early thoughts but help appreciated!

Do it! You'll never go back.

Parts you'll need:
-front subframe (Tuono, not Mille - it's weaker, may vibrate at speed)
-fairing
-front light (Mille will do - later model of early one - 2001-2003 I think)
-Tuono top yoke + risers + handlebars (or aftermarket set - check german ebay), or just fit Convertibars like me
-longer brake and clutch lines
-mirrors (bar end?)
-stearing damper (stock Mille will do) You will need it

but not necessarily
-the rest is looks: bellypan, radiator covers... The list is endless...

Basics would cost you roughly 500, less if you're not in a hurry. You'll

it.

What do you like about it? Is it better to ride etc etc?
I like the hooligan looks and poss riding position and think it might be more comfy two up but never tried it. I love my falco hence not going to buy a tuono and would love to have the ability to have both.

Might have to start the shopping for this winters project then!

I loved mine as well, but this is a great bike and I'm absolutely delighted with it. The "boss" riding position is fantastic and although you feel as if you'll fall off the side at every corner for the first few hundred miles it grows on you v.quickly. The view over the hedges is another big boon, but over 100mph and your neck muscles start knowing about it.

Try it and buy it I reckon

Sabestian covered the lot.
Except! : I use the stock Falco mirrors, just drill holes in the Tuono fairing and they fit.
Looks much better than any other aftermarket or stock mirrors and you already have them!

Most diffecult part to get will be the Tuono front subframe, mille will fit but one is broken due the vibrations so be carefull. Maybe a Mille one with extra supports welded on?
Mine is a Mille one but modified it so the fairing is placed higher,closer and attached(!) to the topyoke.

If you google or search this and the old forum on "Falcuono" mine will pop up.

I like mine so much that I sold all the stock parts.....

That's why I've kept my Convertibars. It's right in the middle between Falco and Tuono position which is brilliant. No more sore wrists or neck (it was a problem for me). Still quite sporty. Super easy to ride, less demanding, just perfect. Pity I had to crash to discovered it.

Hansie is right - but if you want to avoid welding or cutting - stick to my list

Do the search for SoulDaddy's bike on the other forum. That's what you'll get using stock Tuono parts. Looks far better then Tuono itself IMHO.

If you use an aftermarketkit the bars are also lower than Tuono too. Some 4 cm or so.
Much better for me, more weight on the front wheel.

But they also do a Fat Bar conversion, which is closer to what the Tuono has (I think)
