modifying sidestand frame bracket ...

Has anyone tried this ?
Im asking because as I was offering up the ' honestly guvnor 06 blade stand from eblag'. it seemed to me the biggest problem may be the angle at which the stand is at when its down.
Ideally the stand leg should be at around 45 degrees to where ( the imaginary ) bottom frame rail would be.... but the stand drops to around 55 or 60 degrees, if you get me.
That puts tons of strain on a not that butch to start with sidestand, my stand is bending toward the rear of the bike.
Just wondered if anyone has explored this ? ?

I had a brand new one and after much head scratching the ace design team at blinkster tech remodelled the structural integrity of the device in such a way that other than applying a drop of 3:1 to the original spring and weeping at the butchered and cast aside Honda shite ( well the money that could have paid for the Rizoma fluid container) Other than that I've never once doubted it

So my advice is you're right IMHO it can end up looking more shiny than the original. Now my Blinkster that's a different story ;)

Yes - you used to be able to buy "Perky's Tilter" to do this

Helps a bit but doesn't solve the problem.

The angle IS the biggest issue but when the angle is changed you need a longer stand.

The US stand and Gixer stand solve the angle and length issues (probably the Honda stand too) and they are physically more robust than the standard stand

I tried fitting one to flatlanders bike and i could'nt get the angle right.
I tried bending the stand with heat applied but when the stand was folded back it looked has though it may catch on the floor when riding and leaning the bike.
After tinkering for a good hour i decided to cut the leg off but keep the honda mounting block and weld a piece of solid bar in its place and used the spring peg plus the rod that you would put your foot against to lift the side stand up and down off the honda stand and weld them to the bar.
Tbh honest it was a bit fiddley but worth the effort in the end.
I don't know if you have ever seen a bobseywoo side stand, but that is what flatlanders stand looked like when completed and does the job well.
On a final note the honda stand is hollow so bending the stand could cause fractures so be carefull

Seems a lot of money and a lot of messing around, I think i am will go in the garage today and cut the leg off my origional falco stand and weld in a piece of solid bar and weld the lugs off the origional to the solid bar and fit it to my bike to see if it fits right and sell blinkeywoo side stands....

I have a perkys stand adapter but you could cut the bar to any length and do away with the adapter completely

I've not used a honda stand but I thought that one bolted straight on with no mods
