Off on hols next Thursday with an added extra!

#1 Post by HowardQ » Sat Sep 15, 2012 9:07 pm

We're off on hols on Thursday to Lagos in the western Algarve for 2 weeks, renting a villa just to the west of the town, near Luz beach.
Was watching WSB in Germany last week and I got to thinkling. :smt017.
It's getting really interesting since Max and Marco started jumping off just when they look like they might be heading for the title, and Tom Sykes is still in with a good chance.
I was thinking, why not see if we can get into Portimao Circuit next Sunday and see it live? It is only 5 miles from where we are staying.
The last time we went to a Moto GP or WSB race outside the UK was Estoril MotoGP in 2008, to see JT in his first year.
It would be nice to take in the WSB race next Sunday.
The Estoril package cost us an arm and a leg, but what if we turned up on the day at Portimao, how much would it be?
It turns out tickets are available on the day for the massive cost of 18 Euros each. :smt001
This includes all the grandstands on the circuit except the main covered stand on the start fin straight, take your pick or try them all.
That's decided, we can't afford to miss it at that price.
The two weekends I can't get out on the bike, whilst on hols, will save me that much in petrol!

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Fabulous idea, Howard. I was tentatively planning a holiday around that date for the same reason but other commitments prevented it from happening. I particulalrly love it down at Sagres Point where Henry The Navigator is said to have had his school of navigation. If you haven't been, I recommend a visit. Enjoy your holiday!

I hate it when people ask if you have a bathroom, I want to say "No we pee in the garden"

It's next weekend with the normal set up - practice Friday, qualifying/Superpole Saturday and the race on Sunday, (first race about 10:30, which I think is Superstock 1000s).
