What is the best sprocket setup for max mpg. I'm smashing 500 miles a week, and would like to get the fuel bill down a bit.

Loads of stops and starts 15/42. loads of cruising 16/42. although it depends on what your speed will be...keep the speed down, no hard excelleration will give better MPG

Pretty much 20 miles on the M3, 30 on the A303 (dual carriage way). Anywhere between 70 and 80 usually with no dragstrip starts.

I don't think that the gearing makes much difference to the MPG on the Falco.

With 15/41 more revs and probably was crusing 5 to 10 mph slower ( a good thing

) which makes up for the added zing else where. At the spead you suggest the bike will be running more efficiently with 15/41 (16/44) rather than the standard 16/41 which works well if you are crusing around the ton.

Yes I agree; I did a long commute on mine a year or two ago and I think mpg is more about how you ride. There's a group of drivers in the US who compete for max mpg figures (really). They pump the tyres up super hard and try anything to keep the load low on the engine and keep momentum and not use brakes. I used to get 50mpg from mine, but I had a PC3 then - not sure what I would get now. Get your head down and check brakes not binding. It can get adictive. I had to fill up each ride so I knew exactly what I had used. Slip streaming vans helps too
