Seat comfort

#1 Post by wayno » Fri Sep 14, 2012 1:56 pm

After riding to Le Mans I have to say that the seat on the Falco is not terribly comfortable. I've seen on here that the newer seats are supposed to be better, but I have also seen some people who havbe had bootleggers mod the seat with extra padding.

I've e-mailed bootleggers for a price to beef up the seat a bit and put a little bit of colour into it, but I wanted to check what people who have chaged the stock seat say. Is it enough of an improvement to just get the newer seat or is it worth just getting an old one modified? (or has anyone gone all out and had a new one modified?)

Any before anyone says anything no I'm not getting a sargant seat, got far too many mods in mind to spend it all on the seats :)

well i do have a sargeant saddle

worth it?

i think so - but it is NOT hobbit friendly as it is a good 1 to 2 inches taller

others who have ridden the bike recently have commented how comfortable it was

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I found the seat a touch on the hard side too for long trips. I bought a second hand seat and usind a flap disk in a grinder i buffed a good chunk of the original foam away and replaced it with some user friendly seat foam donated from me to me out of an old rover car seat. Re'attached the original cover and now it's plush :smt001 Iv'e heard some good reports about the Bootlegger it would be interesting to see what price they come back with :smt001 christmas creeping up an all. Now where's the wife's purse :smt003
