Clunk! Cringe!

When switching off the bike I hear a mechanical knock or clunk from the bottom of the engine as if something is kicking back.

Any ideas?

I have had this before and if I'm not mistaken it preceeded the sprag giving up on me badly and shearing the fly wheel retaining bolts which in turn chewed up the alternator.

I hope it's not doing this again.

Can only be the sprag really? unless hmmmm unburnt fuel igniting.

Do what I do and turn it off and coast to a stop so all you can hear is tyre noise, although I only do it to stop the neighbors putting my windows out.
