Falco as a donor bike for a Cagiva Raptor !! ??

#1 Post by HowardQ » Thu Aug 23, 2012 9:32 pm

Must be right it's in Ride Mag for September!

Quote from Ride article -
SUSPENSION.
Forks are decent enough, but the rear shock isn't - an Aprilia Falco item fits straight in and will improve the handling and steering.

Evidently it is "possible" to fit one from an RSV or Tuono but is almost impossible to fit one with a piggyback reservoir or similar as there is just no room, so most fit the Falco Blue spring.
Perhaps Shebee or Snapdragon can enlighten us on this one.
We must have an fair collection we can offer them.
Maybe why they are asking for silly money on eBay for them?

The news I've been waiting for ..... I've 3 of the things in my garage!

..... so how bad is the Raptor's shock if the Falco's sachs unit is seen as an improvement? :smt009

On a different subject.
Nooj got a very good two page write-up in the same Ride mag.
He did a great clean up on a KTM and they seemed very pleased with the service.

I will be keeping my original but the other two are available for any cash-rich raptor owners.

:smt053 yeah ..... I just assumed it was part of a "keep all original bits for the unlikely event that I'll need to restore it to standard one day" policy - either because you have to sell or that it becomes a classic for which you feel the need to return to "as built" spec.

That's my reasoning anyway.
