Hi guy's, well i went and did it. I messaged Gabro and should have a chip on the way soon

I told him of my mods, Akro's and K+N and told him that i might be doing the airbox mod shortly, so he said he would burn me a twin map chip for either open box or standard box. Erm what does that mean? do i need to wire a switch to the original cut derestriction wire to enable one map or the other? or do i do nothing and just plug it in? I have asked him this question aswell (with risk of sounding like a idiot lol) but this territory is new to me, i only asked him a short moment ago so still awaiting an answer but i thought i'd ask here too.
I tried a quick search but couldn't find what i was looking for, probably everyone else doesn't need to ask this sort of daft question...
but i do lol
Cheers

Why not just get a bullet connector?
And thanks for the info.

True, a bullet connector will do fine and an on/on switch aswell but the bullet connector will be simpler

can't wait for it to arrive

Well it arrived

and so far i have only fitted it and fired her up to see how she runs up to warm up temp for now. Itching to go for a run but it's thick mist here at the moment. She fired up perfect as usuall but it felt so wrong reconnecting the derestriction wire

just feels alien lol

I have a Gabro chip in mine, he did it as a twin map, one for just cans and the second for with the evo airbox. I got it and the airbox around th same time so I haven't tried it with the standard 'box but when I fitte it all up the difference was huge, big grin inducing huge.

It does bring on the grin factor

i was going to just run her on the first map with the standard box but now i'm really keen to source a second box to butcher for the homemade airbox mod seeing there's more to come from the second map.

I must remember it's Gabro and not Garbo, i seem to have Garbo stuck in my head lol

gabro - a nice italian chap, makes the chip to fit your bike - i.e., it is worked around the mods you have done - so, open exhausts, bigger throttle bodies etc, chip is different
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

The general consensus of those that have used both FP and Gabro chips (I'm not one of them btw) is that Gabro will give you something pretty spot on but the FP, although a decent chip, tends to over-fuel.

What about dr rossi then says he whistling innocently ?
Say one set for open airbox and open cans would that be a straight swap and take baffles out if the airbox has been changed ?
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
