Norfolk 2012 - The "Not a Wake" meet 7th & 8th

#1 Post by Aladinsaneuk » Thu Jul 26, 2012 12:24 pm

As is traditional, there is going to be a Norfolk Meet - and this years has taken some planning as ... well - allow me to explain, especially for newer members

The Norfolk Meet has always been organised and led by Samray (Phil Rayner - kwackerz dad!)

Most here are aware that Phil got a shitty diagnosis at the tale end of last year - so shitty that easter was looking very doubtful. With that in mind, and fearing that we would need to be planning a wake, the plans for norfolk were put on hold.

Well, after assorted doctors tried playing with assorted drugs etc, Phil started to self medicate with Jack Daniels and though the diagnosis and prognosis remain the same, he mentioned that he would not mind having a farewell bash....
(Something that many of us old farts had wondered about as well - a fair few folk have travelled down to Samray Towers over the last few months but....)

SO

this year, the norfolk bash is called the 2012 "Not a Wake" meet

IMPORTANT
this is for all members and friends of ridersite - not just phil's friends - I think many of us would love to see a good turn out - RIDERSITE would not have become the kind of club it is with out Phil's guiding hand..... even if the hand was either holding a JD bottle or a whip!

the details:

Venue is at Outney Meadow Caravan Park - http://www.outneymeadow.co.uk/

DO NOT BOOK IN WITH THEM - i have already made a provisional booking

I have said that we are likely to need 10 camping slots for the saturday night, though some folk are likely to be arriving on friday

The agreed fees are:

for one man /small tents £10 per night - £14 for two adults sharing (Anything bigger than a 4 man, drop me a PM and i will sort it out)

There is an electric hook up available for those who want it - £3 per night

Catering wise - I will sort out a group cooking facility for breakfast - for the evening meals i suggest we use one of the local take aways.

I have told Phil that he is not allowed to die, or get sicker with out permission - and suggested that he come to the camp site on the saturday for around 1630 hours.

I and Hanna will be around to run folk around etc and generally help out

Final thing - please post here if you are coming along, and how many nights you will need to camp for - we do have the option of more pitches :)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Should have known an Aladin link would need a QT Plug-in. :smt015

Just to clarify .... the dates given by Nursie are in the month of Septembeer

... and of course, the 7th and 8th are the nights for camping .... departure at some point on 9th

Of course, during the time that Sam is there, we will hold the JD therapy session

Just realised I'm supposed to be at my niece's wedding on the Saturday. It doesn't look like I'll be coming, sorry.
