Swap for my PFM cast iron disks?
My bike has PFM cast iron front disks which are a popular upgrade for people wanting more bite. The down side is my bike lives outside and they rust too quick. Would like to swap for OE disks or buy some used OE disks. Any takers?

Are your PFM discs the later fixing with a stainless steel band, or the earlier ones with stainless bobbins? If they're the earlier ones I'd be happy to swap the rotors as I have a set of virtually new Falco rotors sitting on the shelf - only done running-in mileage.
All you need to do then is to swap the rotors over onto your carriers and away you go...

I'd definitely be up for a swap, I've got standard brembos with black carriers on mine.
I'll drop you a pm in a bit

The disks look like standard disks - black centre, round stainless bobbins which hold the rotors. Is that the early ones then? How do you get the rotors off?mangocrazy wrote:Are your PFM discs the later fixing with a stainless steel band, or the earlier ones with stainless bobbins? Yes, they're the earlier design. Not quite sure when they switched over. The bobbins should be held in at the back with circlips and wave washers. Can't remember whether they're E-clips or circlips with holes for circlip pliers. Once the brake disc are off the wheel it should become apparent.ReggieGasket wrote:The disks look like standard disks - black centre, round stainless bobbins which hold the rotors. I think new thickness is 5mm. As long as they're not badly scored I'd still be interested. Have you worked out how to remove the rotors from the carriers? Perhaps PM me a pic of them?
I won't be going back to Stafford (where my OE rotors are kept) until next weekend. If that's a problem let me know.
