no worries ross

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

..... and just as a rough guide, 1Aus$ is worth about 66p - so that should help people get a general idea of price.

I've been watching the panniers & frames auction. Damn, they are tempting.

The only downsides are that the bike doesn't get ridden very much and with a baby due in 6 weeks, I can't see Mrs. Viking and I going away for weekend rides on the bikes any time soon. :smt009

Oh, and a note for the mods - you've spelt Aussie wrong on Ross' title.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

so, having ripped hell out of my odd faux pas, you managed to screw up on a colonial's name... have you no sense of empire and destiny ?

The shame !

No - I just added an extra insult (maybe inadvertently but the effect was still there)

You are actually assuming that we actually manage to stage this megga sports-day.
Border Control staff are striking to stop anyone getting in.
Train drivers are striking to stop those that are in from getting to the events.
The operation is however being run with spectators in mind .... just like any totalitarian state would do. All spectators will be fully searched. You are not allowed to bring more than 100ml of water with you. You are told that you must turn up to events at least 2 hrs in advance due to security checks .... had a letter telling me this during the week - for an event on the evening of a work day (my son doesn't know whether he can get the time off work so may not be able to go) ..... and if you bring a small bag with you .... well don't - the letter says extra checks that may lead you to missing your event ........ and all this is to watch 2 games of football at our local stadium where I have been going to virtually every game for years - never arriving more than 15mins before kick-off

...... but despite all this OTT security, they've still not recruited all the people they need to run it!!

And I have absolutely no idea what you are supposed to do if you turn up on a bike (normally free parking at the ground).
There is a lot of info about travelling by car, train, bus, on foot, by bicycle, hot air balloon, space shuttle (might have made a couple of those up) but NOWHERE can I find a single comment about arrangements for motorcycles.

TBH I wish I'd not got the tickets in the first place.
