As I'm trying to be a photographer, I thought I really ought to turn out and take some pics of the Olympic torch being carried through our town. So I did.

I thought it was unfortunate that all the huge promotional vehicles rendered the torchbearer rather insignificant - not helped by the chav-type white tracksuit they wear.

Still, I suppose it's some sort of history and I duly recorded it.

The end.

Actually, I don't. Whole bloody thing's a charade, and an exercise in corporate feeding-frenzy

I made myself rather unpopular at work one day by ranting about what a complete waste of time and money the whole torch nonsense was. Definitely a minority view. To be honest, I can barely tolerate the hype surrounding the Olympics never mind all that peripheral stuff. Also, too many professional, mainstream sports included in my opinion.
My wife says I'm definitely a grumpy old man;she's right. Although I don't feel old. :smt001

Are you a beardy tree hugger? You don't strike me as one.

Surely the corporate grab-what-you-can-from-it approach is more Telegraph, Daily Braile receivers-of-outrageous-bonuses territory??
