#1 Post by struv » Sat Jul 07, 2012 6:18 pm

slight amount of oil in the airbox when i looked today iv only recently bought the bike and have noticed when warm it smells oily sort of smell my pajero makes when its got a weep from the rocker cover .so i opend the airbox to find a clean filter but a film of oil on the base of the airbox and on the offside where theres a low part to the plastick casing there was about a half teaspoon of oil .is this normal the bikes only done 16k and seams to run well in all other ways and i cant remember if my last falco was like this as it was 10 years ago :smt017

mine does it some times, normally if i top it up a bit to much i think there is a pipe with a bung in it to drain of exes oil at service intervals
so don't worry about it

dont worry about a little oil in the airbox, mine has always done it. but it does sound like you maybe have a little leak thats burning off on the exhaust.

It's a special power-enhancing feature. Lubricating the air helps it to flow more quickly through the air-box, down the throttle bodies and past the valves in to the cylinders.

My Falco one generally has a bit of oil in.
The kwak doesn't because all the leaves and dead insects soak it up.
