Tyres for Falco
Now my OZ wheels have gone off to be refurbed, need to look for some new tyres.
Sporty tyres, mainly for road use.
On the list, Dunlop Sportsmax, Bridgestone S20, Diablo Rosso Corsa or Rosso II
Comments please

I'm a great fan of Pirellis for the Falco.
My OZ wheels have Pirelli Angel ST tyres on them - they seem to be a brilliant all rounder - nothing to criticise on them whatsoever
My BST wheels have a set of Diablo Rosso Corsas on them - again excellent tyres - more "sporting" approach which suit the lightweight rims very well.
I had a set of normal Rossos on the OZs before I fitted the Angels. They were good but I prefer both the Angels and Rosso Corsas.
I've not had a chance to try the RossoII yet but (unless they've replaced them with something better by the time I change) I'll try them on the BSTs - still a sporting focussed tyre but more road biassed than the corsa .... and as I ride on the road it'll probably be a better tyre for me.

I've currently gpt Dunlop RoadSmarts on my standard rims, and they're an excellent tyre. Can't fault them for dry grip, feel, tyre life, wet grip - anything. They do it all. For the Oz rims I've gone for a set of SportSmarts, as I quite fancy doing a track day on the bird, as well as normal road stuff.
The Roadsmarts are the first Dunlop tyre I've ever used, and I'm mightily impressed. Haven't had chance to try the Sportsmarts yet, as I only fitted the wheels last weekend.
Before that I was a confirmed Michelin man. To be honest, I don't think anyone makes a bad tyre - whatever you choose will be good. Pick the manufacturer you prefer, pick the tyre from their range that best suits you, and away you go...

We have had many tyre discussions on this forum and general sense of opinion ther is not really a bad tyre.
Tyres come in many types but may have the same brand name, Ie hard centre and soft edge for bit of fun and touring combined through to a full on race tyre.
I have bridgestone BT 021s fitted to the grey at the moment but i will be fitting some metzeler sportsteks soon.
The world is your oyster but you need to decide what your tyres will be doing.
Track days? touring? Aggressive riding? Only YOU can decide by your riding style what tyre suits best.
When you decide talk to your tyre supplier and i am sure he will point you in the right direction
The falco is really a multi use weapon so how choose to decide to ride should influence your choice of tyre.
I hope this helps

I omitted to add 'these days' to my original post...D-Rider wrote:..... someone's forgetting the Mez3 rubbish that was fitted from the factory ....mangocrazy wrote:To be honest, I don't think anyone makes a bad tyre

MEZ3s are ancient history in tyre terms. Even if you wanted to (and I have no idea why anyone would want to) you couldn't buy any today. Thankfully.
So sleep easy in your beds, boys and girls. Pretty much any tyre you can buy will be fit for purpose and give good smiles per mile.

Just had the Roadsmarts for 8k front and rear excellent very neutral in a positive way speared to only start losing profile right at end of life and still able to ride ok.
Just got the Roadsmarts 2 and it is even better from first impressions very little rolling resistance is the outstanding characteristic and if it makes sense they feel incredibly light.
I feel more than confident on them on some of the bigger private roads at grin factor plus speeds :)

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock
