Anyone got any recent experience of these? May need some if I get this old K100

I've used Castrol Valvemaster Plus (also incorporates octane booster) in my '80s Lancia Beta, and that seems to like it. I seem to recall getting the best deal from the MG owner's club on this, but Opie Oils also list it, and they are affiliated to this site...

When I had an Austin Maestro I used to use some Castrol stuff I think - but one Maestro owner had done about 50000 miles without using anything, with no noticeable effect.

Lead from the church roof and a cheese grater?
Scrape the 'non toxic' paint off some childrens toys that were made in China?

Seriously, does a K really need it?

For the earlier ones, like this, possibly. Some say yes, some say no, as long as you're careful. I'm at the beginning of a learning curve.

Already had offers of help from other K100 owners in the area; they seem, at least through a forum, a nice bunch - bit like here, really.

How big a job is it to pull the head and get hardened seats put in?

Might seem like a PIA now, but once done you don't need to fanny about with addatives.

At the moment, I don't know if it's already had this done, and I'm not sure how one can tell, without stripping the head. I know the last owner-but-one had replaced the rings, so he must have had the head off; if I can locate her, I might get the answer.

However, I've already located a spare head, just in case.

So you're implying that not through a forum we're a bunch of twats?
