And he was! We're back now. Pics to follow but they need editing first, I have about 250 of them to sort through!

Glad you both made it back safely. Sorry we both had work diversions (people with cash wanting to buy a house - rare commodity and under-volt Mercedes refusing to start), but it was great having the time to relax and chat.
Try to do the same with mango this week....

Cool, we did drop by with Mango (and Mrs. Mango) on Friday, you may have heard us rumbling around Moux. We did try and get hold of you beforehand, but couldn't get through.

BTW, it's about 18*c and hammering down with rain here. Glad to be back??? Sort of... if only for the comfy chairs we have. 4000+ km round trip leads to sore bums.

Actually... no. I did manage to find a few bottles of Fitou in Sainsburys on a half price offer (still nearly a fiver each!). It's from Tuchan, which was the villege we rode though on the way back from Perepetuse that was flooding due to a very recent thunderstorm. It's quite nice, but still has that vinagary bite to it that all French wine over here seems to have. Now I know wine that's twice as nice and a quater of the price is available IN France, I'm even more put off by the stuff we get sent over here :smt011

photo time

Say hello to Falcomille. This was at a cafe on the Canal du Midi in a small town called Homps which we declared 'Cafe Falco'. Any Falco types meeting in the South of France; this is where you have to meet from now on :smt003

Image

The Canal, loads of Brit boats floating on it, infact most of the people that were at the cafe when we were were also English.

Image

Time to go home, FM and Mrs. FM get jacketed up before riding home on the YELLOW Falco.

Image

A few days later we were at chez Falcomille for a BBQ, very kind of them (a most excellent evening!) Nice garage, could do a lot with that!

Image

This is a painting of theirs called Isle Of Dogs, can't remember who by, but it really appeals to me.

Image

A few days later and it was Mango Time. This is his local cafe. Like the mini-castle behind it, the French do a very good line in turrets.

Image

Mango and Mrs. Mango get ready to continue the days' ride, showing us some of the best local roads.

Image

It was a VERY hot day, so hot Mrs. Mango got stuck to her jacket. Much ammusement followed watching her being extracted from it.

Image

Back to Cafe Falco by the canal for pizza and beer after a good day's rumbling around the surrounding countryside.

But wait! What's this crashing through the scrub?? It looks hungry!

Image

Oh no! It's got Mrs. mango!

Image

Oh shit, it's another one!

Image

And another!

Image

Luckilly Mango wrestles them into submission... Ride 'em, errr, antboy.

Image

Off they go in search of sugerlumps elsewhere.

Is that the official pannier rack on the bronze falco?

It was an entertaining holiday, It makes a real difference if you've got someone to meet up with who knows the local area and customs. It was good to be able to put the phrase book away for a bit!

The luggage rack is one I designed and made (had a local engineering place do the welding for me) from box section ally. Works very well, but makes filtering interesting!

Not long got back from La Belle France - and look what lovely weather we have... :smt011

But I'd just like to echo what the others have said and say we had a lovely time with Debz and Nooj (and a most excellent day's riding) and an equally splendid time with Mr & Mrs FalcoMille, even though the weather was uncharacteristically grey and windy (and I got lost twice on the way there...)

Excellent photos, btw Nooj. Caused quite a smile in Chateau Mango...
