I have still been thinking of things to promote a bit of income for the site's running costs. Earlier in the thread I posted forum sponsorship deal with a small image, Pierre showing an interest. I think i may send this live although im going to do a bit of testing before committing to take money, etc from people for such a deal. If you are interested or know of people who may be then give me a shout and i'll give it more research and testing

..going back to the advertising forum index link idea.. this is the kind of thing. this size and this size only!

Image

Here is the small print..
The image for the advertising space will be supplied by the donator, linked to their site main landing page and will be available for an initial introductory 30 quid donation for 6 months for one image link .

The image will be shown for a 24 hour period after which payment must be made in full, this allows the donator to check and confirm it suits their need. If i deem the donator to be taking the pee (technical term from the dictionary of kwackerz) and trying to get a week's free advertising (like trying to change the image excessively while 'confirming it's what i want') ill simply call you a twat and cancel the deal.

If the donator requires help designing an image, we will be happy to help as best as we can.

Advertising space would be sold on a first come first served basis and would be subject to some basic rules.

Images will be static, no flashy gif images, not too garish (dayglo colours are banned!) just a good old plain jpeg image.

The image supplied must be tasteful and in keeping with the Site's biking image.

If you cease to require advertising on the forum index you will not be refunded for any remaining period. All monies donated (which must be done using the paypal account shown elsewhere on RS) are used to fund the upkeep and image of RiderSite and Aprilia Ridersite. By using the paypal account i can keep records showing monies in and out. I bloody hate scammers and try to ensure everything to do with RS and ARS is done in a good honest manner at all times.

If the Site ceases to exist, We will do everything we can to ensure it rises from the ashes and your advertising continues, adjusting the period to allow for downtime.

You accept the fact that RS and ARS are not on their own servers and as such are liable to small periods of downtime beyond our control as Site admins. Jahlis, who sort the server space are brilliant and have kept RiderSite on the net with an enviable track record of uptime. Nothing in life is ever certain though. (by the way thats a plug for them.. if youre setting up a Site and want more than a basic set up, i wholly recommend them and their services)

Your advertising deal is with myself as the main Site admin. our webhosts accept no responsibility.

In my absence from the Country with work, Sam will act to maintain the smooth running of existing and proposed advertising

As always commonsense applies. I have loaded an example (as above) onto the forum index to allow people to see what could be. All forums apart from General chat and the Virtual bar are available

If you want one then please shout. If you are unsuccessful in obtaining your forum of choice, we do have plenty more available, so all is not lost
I appreciate some people will be not too keen on the use of images promoting forums, however this will allow RS and ARS to continue, hopefully with less requirement for people to dig into their pockets and it helps our members promote their businesses, websites and the like. Ive seen this used on other forums I frequent and it has served them very well (and at MUCH more cost than here)

so why not make that link the link you are using as a trial.....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
