With slight mods, you could also use it for inserting the currants into teacakes

I'm sure the French had a prototype of this at the time of their revolution.

..... anyone know any members of the aristocracy to try this on? ....... in the interests of tradition we should really start with the house of lords .... but as the power the nobles once had now resides with government, we can then move on to the lower chamber .....

Just bought one of these:

Old and in need of a bit of TLC .... and the mini-digger is similar.

..... now I've got the problem of bringing it from Norfolk into the civilised world .....

.... and "why?" you may ask ..... well my son whose in the building trade has been badgering me to get one .... and the mrs wants the garden landscaped .... and need to dig out footings for the garage/workshop Joe will build me ....

...... and it's a cool toy !

This is a damned useful tool (if not as immediately exciting as some of the foregoing) - worth every penny. Can be used, e.g, instead of a chisel where you haven't room to use a mallet. Fantastic for flush trimming. Very well built & durable. And lots of interesting attachments (less obtrusive than the petrol-engined vibrator)

Yes a Case 646 series B

TBH I can't find out that much about it but I know this model was produced between 1972 and 1980.

Need to find manuals etc but have drawn a bit of a blank so far.

From what I've read the Case machines have a good reputation - especially the ones from this era,

I wish I could find room for something like that in my life, but unfortunately I don't have the space. I always thought you had a back garden, not a bloody country estate...

The garden is big for a semi in a city but not huge. We're a corner plot and it just opens out at the back - about a quarter of an acre if I recall.
For the work my lad hopes to establish (his idea is we'll do this together) we'll need a digger. This is a bit of a toe in the waters of diggers and we can get the garden done and see how we get on with it.
