Ask solicitor to issue a writ for obstruction or similar - they are taking the piss
recorded delivery letter to chief constable to ask him to accept accountability for what his staff are doing in his name

Go to the press with this - this stinks

and when you go to the press give any fee they would pay to a charity - better pr

The solicitor stated they have upto 3 months to reply before they can do more (guess thats from when the solicitor takes over).

having thought about this - its an election year

so... who is your MP?? get hold of their details and send a recorded delivery letter to House of Parliament asking them to take up your case

(If it is a tory then then they will make political capital of it)

and keep agitating

re your brief - I would avail yourself of the CAB legal advice clinics - book an appointment, take all the details along with a one page precis of what happened - be interesting to see what happens

finally - met a nice legal chap at the Club Aprilia meet last year - may well be worth while giving him a call - i think others here also took his card.... i will have to try and find it....

Thank you for the advise, as to changing the solicitor they are working for KGM insurance so thats out of my control.
The police are just not returning any correspondence.

Actually, no it isn't. I became rather dissatisfied with the panel solicitors that my insurers put in charge of my case when I was knocked off last March.
I discussed this with TC and it's now in the hands of the solicitors for whom he works.
This has added some delay - they have to explore every avenue by which the case may be funded through legal expenses insurances (and it's surprising how many you have and don't realise it - and equally surprising how many don't cover the circumstances in which you find yourself or will only accept their panel solicitors to act) .... but at the end of that is a no win, no fee arrangement (I think as long as they believe you stand a good chance of winning).

I certainly have much more confidence in the solicitors I am using now.

As I've said before, talk to TC - he'll explain the options to you better than I can.

I got a call from the polices insurance company today asking to arrange a date to inspect my bike,the bike was taken in August and written off so I believe your around 5 MONTHS to late.
Lucky I was at work and the wife answered as I may have had a few choice words

i think it has been mentioned earlier, but you are keeping a record of all the time you have spent on this?

please do not forget to ask your solicitor to bill them for your time

and obviously compensate you for time lost enjoying your past time.... bike riding...

This is starting to become unbelievable .
The case was passed from my insurance company to their solicitors,who have been working on it since the 11th of December.
they have now informed me they cannot deal with it as happened in Scotland !!!!! unfucking believable nearly 3 months to realize fort william is In Scotland.
Back to bloody square 1

Tell your insurance company you are going to get your own solicitor and will bill them for it. Do it by registered post. Hopefully that'll get them off their arses.

Complain to the Chief Constable that his force has failed you under the new policing pledge, get your local MP involved - police jump when local government takes an interest.

Don't sit back and assume something will get done - it won't until you sicken everyone with your complaints.

I have now Received a letter stating that they are flatly refusing to pay up due to a manufacturer fault on Aprilias.
They have said that they have loads of forum and web based info regarding FALCO side stands.
Does anyone have some positive info,cannot believe that they can use this excuse

Speak to TC. Theyre just firing for effect. Keep pushing them. If they know of problems with Aprilias they shouldnt have accepted liability to move it.

You had the standard stand fitted?

Sounds like typical insurance company wriggling that we have come to expect.
It's nowt but a b.s. try on and like most bullies they will likely back down when stood up to.
The copper was incompetant and said so.

stick to your guns. i ca'nt see them winning that one. is it classed as a fault or not as good as other makes.
