re the brake and clutch lines - you are aware that we get a discount from HEL - probably the cheapest option for you
(Oh - conider two brake lines for the fron brake....)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

on willy waving grounds - the ohlins
for most day to day riders - the white spring, serviced and set up for you is ok for most
IF the ohlins is in good order, and does not need a service, then I would go for that at 150 quid
(But be aware - you may need to service it over the next year or so....)

actually:
1998-2000 RSV MILLE:
Any 1998 to early 2000 Sachs shock (black body/white spring) from an RSV will fit using the stock Falco linkage plates and dogbones. Features Ride-Height, preload, compression and rebound adjustment. Rebound is adjusted via small screw on side of shock body. Some riders find they have to shave/trim the schrader valve on the extended nitrogen canister to get the shock past the Falco subframe, but this is easy to do and many have found that the shock simply slips right in without the need for modification.
2001-2003 RSV MILLE:
Any 2000.5 to 2003 RSV Sachs shock (gold & silver body/yellow spring) or Ohlins will fit, but you must use the matching triangle linkage plates and dogbone from a 2001 to 2003 model RSV, as well. 2003 models have a different part number for the triangle plates, but the difference is negligible. The shorter nitrogen canister on the 2001-2003 Sachs shock means no modification is needed to fit this shock behind the Falco subframe. These shocks also feature ride-height, preload, compression and rebound adjustments. Rebound was changed to a small click-dial on the bottom of the Sachs shock and can be adjusted by hand. Both the Ohlins and Sachs shocks use a significantly lighter spring rate than the 1998-2000 versions due to very different linkage ratios.
so - the later - pre mille2 shape sachs or ohlins will fit - the standard rsvr milles had the sachs unit, the rsvr factories had the ohlins fitted
(Same thing for the Tuono's 2002 to 2005)

yep
all bar the white spring mille shocks need the right linkages
(There are ways of doing it with out the linkages, but ... it is not that straight forward....)
I guess my advice would be, if you can get a white spring shock, in reasonable condition, and cheap - <50 quid for example, then grab it and run it as an interim while you track down the sachs/ohlins if that is what you want....

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.

If you get a white shock and have it serviced, when you buy an ohlins i would be interested in your white shockrobbier6 wrote:I think thats what i'm going to do.
But i may well get the white spring shock refreshed and just run that as everybody on here says that its more than acceptable.
I've got til next april to make it look pretty.
more than enough time to make a total horlicks of it

Tolerance will be our undoing.
