Pete's Renegade is the same .... and you can argue that the standard Falco system is too.fatboy wrote:Greg, that looks really good but I have to ask why 2-1-2 ?
I may be being blonde here but any benefits other than tidy system ?

I prefer the look
For what ever reasons, I believe the 2-1-2 suits a mid rev range bike where as a 2-1 is for higher power/faster top end
I believe that race milles used both options depending on the track / situation

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

OK - dyno chart for this mod.
Firstly ..... NOT done on a Falco but on a Mille (which as far as I am concerned is fine as I've chosen a 2:1 for other reasons - so any improvement the mod gives is an improvement to the setup I've chosen to run)
Secondly ...... the fuelling was only set up for the unmodified system - for a fair test it must be set up properly for each configuration - so these plots will underestimate the improvement.
The runs were done using the mod done by redratbike - my guess is these have not been so "developed" as the MHP ones that were developed for the MRO race series to compete with the ultra-expensive Akrapovic systems.
Anyway here are the plots -oh BTW the dyno runs were done by Griff who wanted to get to the bottom of whether the mod actually works.

he liked the duals 10bhp increase in the midrange so much he left it on his own bike and i now supply him modded headers to fit on his customers bikes
please note his fuelling was set up before the dyno run but then only collectors swapped no other tweaking to the fuelling
Griffs dyno results
i believe there is def. some work around pipe diameters for optimum power etc but the diameters i use seem to work well

Exhaust...
Hi all,
Initially, I wanted to do the mid-section with one good can (like the mille). This would of improved the mid-range, which has been debated alot. Then, when I was trying to decide on an end-can, I seen the TwoBrothers (TB) short cans. Having spoke to TB in california, they said that no R+D had been done on an aprilia, as they thought that the pulse would be too harsh on the lifespan of a single can.
So, my limited brain power decided on using two cans to split the pulse and increase the life of the system and having fitted them, the sound and mid range grunt was worth it.
Asthetically, yes, very pleasing. Just an improvement on the original configuration. As with most mods, some can improve the bikes performance, or, just improve the personal bling. Not one improvement will enhance the bike, but, a set of improvements to achieve a reasonable result. And along the way, the depletion of one's credit card
