Sorry
OH YES YOU CAN

I've had ca. 220. 200 isn't uncommon. Usual for me is 170 - 180 before the reserve light comes on (but I've a smaller front sprocket).

IIRC, standard Fut gearing is a little higher than the Falco's. And the engine's in a slightly lower state of tune (113 bhp, 72 lb/ft), with softer cams.
Excellent - that's good to know
As always Andy, you came up with the answer.
Get rid of the Rene induction kits and the race cans, (although titanium cans might help economy compared with the half ton standard cans), ditch the oversize throttle bodies, higher the gearing rather than lower it. Then re-connect the restriction wires on the ECU, then the really hard bit is refitting the plastic restrictor plates on the induction, (nobody saved them in a drawer in the garage, they went straight in the bin!).
Then see what it will do to the gallon.
I reckon none of us on here ever tried that. :smt003

Is that why uncle adolf bombed it Andy?

And am sorry we have been so honest -but that's us

We love the falco but are honest.... Try one - you will see why

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I regularly get 140-150 miles per tank communting, and thats M1/M25/M40 to slough, and thats at 80-100mph, i have seen 160+ to a tank once but that was at sub 85mph up the M1 with a novice pillion so no lairy riding, i would say IMHO that 140 miles then fill er up :smt002

Just put the cat amongst the pigeons i can get close to 200 miles out of the cb 1300 depending on how its ridden. Haven't had less than 46 to the gallon out of it so far and it did do 60 to the gallon once but that was when me and the lad rode up to snake pass, the most i got out of the falco was 158 before the reserve light came on once!

my falco for sale - lets just say it is very confused about its identity these days... and i do not think you would like my MPG figures... lets just say a few parts have been breathed on.... and i have managed to get the fuel light on after 83 miles of back road hooliganism....

(I may know where there is a local falco coming up for sale though - and its relatively original.......)

I've had the light on after that distance with gentle commuting. Seldom get more than 110 to the light. Long journeys are much better I once exceeded 140 miles before it came on.

.... and no, you'd not want Pete's bike. Why have that when you could get one that doesn't require its personal RAC truck to follow it wherever it goes?

Yes but is it cheap?!
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

First of all :smt006
I find the falco fun, and brilliant to ride...
The low down and mid range of the V twin motor is awsome.
If you have never ridden one before v twin that is, it may seem a little hard to get on with.
Some buy these bikes but sell them straight away has "They cant get on with them"
It took me a couple of weeks to "learn" to ride the falco, and funny enough i dont want to ever go back to an in line 4 again.
The best i have had is 160 miles to a tank but i was doing 95 mph motorway speed.
If you buy one and find it odd, i would advise that you dont throw in the towel straight away and stick with it has i am sure you will not want to go back either. :smt002
Tolerance will be our undoing.

Welcome to the forum. Don't think you'll ever get 200 out of a Falco but my view is hey! Who gives a shit!! On an easy 2-up cruise I think I got 180 once, but mostly it's fuel light about 120 and fill up before 150.

I'll never sell my Falco.

With that attitude, how will i ever get one :smt002

Subject to a successful test ride i'm set on the Falco now.

I've ridden all sorts before, iline 2, twins, v twins, v4s single cylinders, etc.. so can't imagine any problems, and anything will be better than the Bandit 1250 i have from the insurance co.

Just need to find a good one. Preferably black (it looks the fastest colour), with a belly pan, and little else in the way of modification.

What is this talk about cutting a wire to de-restrict them? Surely only US and French models would have ever been restricted not UK ones.
