Better not put me down for any of the rideouts this year, I reckon one way or another I've pissed everyone on here off at least once....... :smt002
Hi TN - Sorry if I did jump in too early but I'd sooner do that than jump in too late.
I do enjoy a bit of banter and I have been known to wind people up myself - but it did appear to be beginning to get a bit out of hand. Maybe I judged it right maybe I didn't. What I do know is that you lot asked me to moderate and that means exercising my judgement from time to time. Sometimes my judgement will be right othertimes it may be a bit off the mark - but whatever, I'm not going to shirk it.
As everyone knows, I've not been doing this mod job for long so I accept that I'll not always get it right and that I'll need to listen to feedback and improve as I go along.
Please don't take this personally - I've nothing against you or Ex and you most definitely haven't pissed me off. I look forward to meeting you on some rideout - hopefully this year - although I guess it's a bit less likely that I'll have the chance to meet up with Ex anytime soon.

I stand by my view that from where I was observing it did seem to be on the verge of going over the top - but if it wasn't I'm very glad to hear it.

Now let's put this behind us and celebrate the performance last night (even if the score didn't reflect the game) and look forward to the quarter-finals draw!

It's all gone quiet on here.

Have to agree with DR, but then again I was brought up on a different site. Before moving to the ARS in 2005 I was on Hadeler.net, which I thought was a great site for all the info I needed when I first got my Falco.
This involved some great yanks like CPLUS, who was/is a complete Falco nut and probably the most helpful bloke I found on the net in the early days. He's on AF1 now, (as well as runnin the Hadeler Information Site), so AF1 can't be all bad.
We welcome anybody on our site :smt039 :smt039 :smt039 :smt039
Think we all need to remember that different countries do have different types of humour and our Brit humour ain't always understood. I'd love to meet ya TwinNut, cos you seem to have a sense of humour something like mine. I'll often wind a discussion up a bit, just by throwing in a few comments I may not even agree with, just to spice things up. Sometimes people take it the wrong way, but then again I also tend to be pretty cynical and sarcastic.
Just one thing though TN, keep off the bloody football!
A lot of us out here are also footie fans but unfortunately come from places like Sheffield, Coventry, Mansfield, Crewe, Lincoln, Newcastle, Huddersfield etc., etc. and don't have much to talk about!
Then again my lot did beat that Manchester shower in the 1991 League Cup Final, (bit sad to have to bring that up, but my lot don't win much!) and most of us were rootin for your lot in the Euro Final.
That's it now, no more football :smt018
Just Falco and general bike chat with anybody on the planet who wants to join us :smt006

Don't know why you've had to think you had to jump in and mediate, over a difference of opinion. Especially when this is stated, "It's the complete blanking of posts put up there by anyone who's not part of da' gang." You could always contribute there Twinnut, irrespective of said PITA yanks! I don't understand that for a start. I don't think I'm part of the supposed gang! I'm only too readily & happy to hear other people's opinions, advice etc. I just believe Twinnut, to be very short sighted in his estimation of the AF1 site. As I stated ealier, the ARS site basically folded, to a trickle of worthless info for a while there, and due to my poor dealings with Jorge, who doesn't sponsor the site any longer, I wish this site all the best. I for one don't like having to repeat myself, especially when it comes to 2 sites, with info. I will periodically drop by and info has already been proferred, then I won't see the need to contribute. If info on a thread hasn't been proffered then I'll obviously contribute. Not sure I want to be part of "Da Gang" which Twinnut eludes to, either on AF1's or ARS's site! Not my thing.

Also I just didn't appreciate Twinnut's comments, however they were meant or stated, in jest or otherwise!

I've always been very helpful to anyone on the other site, IMHO, and sure, some of the yanks, some of the time, can be a right PITA, but to say I'm not going to go to such and such a site because of that minority, is very childish. Just because the yanks don't understand soccer/football, it shouldn't be held against them!

See you round.

Again there 'mate', that's utter bunkum. I've posted on there numerous times in the past and simply because I was either new to the bike and/or didn't spend every waking minute trying to break through the crust or resentment (tm) my posts/questions were nearly always blanked apart from by the UK contingent - and I was a lot nicer then as well :smt002 The fella's on AF1 respond to your comments because you've spent Brazil's national debt on your bike and thus have a chunk of knowledge you can impart (thus your are de facto part of 'da gang') if you hadn't spent this wedge they wouldn't be quite so interested. If you're a newby who wants some advice then it's not the friendliest place on the net, don't kid yourself.

I'm not the only one who's noticed this trend either, just read some of the previous threads and comments on the issue. Why do you also think it's childish to avoid a particular forum because your posts/questions are ignored or you might not get the response you expected?? sounds like common sense to me.......I wonder how many times we'll see you posting on here in the future and how many posts you'll put on AF1 in the mean time, Renegade hand bags or not....:smt008

Cheers Fella, but bikes and footy (maybe Metal/guitars) are all I ever really talk about outside of the home so I'd be a bit tricky......don't worry mate, Wise will be gone soon and you'll be somehow dragged to safety. O'Leary will go back and kick you back into the Prem. It's a big shame where you've ended up, there definitely needs to be more teams up there who hate the Scum as much as we do.......sorry to everyone else, won't mention football again (in this thread at least)

Hi YD,
Purely a football thing M8, nothing personal, but it also depends on whether you are a Blue or Red manc of course?

I'm more concerned about the yellow!! :smt081

I was actually born in Bury so I guess I'm not an official Manc, but when I did follow football at least I wasn't a Red from down south :smt001

Too busy watching WSB, MotoGP, BSB and any other bike racing on SKY, haven't been a red since 1981 (approx).
They call it mellow yellow.

What's that got to do with being in Da Gang or not, (and I personally don't think I'm part of "Da Gang" as you so eloquently put it, but hey you have your opinion! :smt014 ), as to how much has been spent on a bike!!! At least I offer advice to newbie's or longtermers at the drop of a hat! At least I have the knowledge of almost 7 years with this bike, from going through what I've done!!! You are just being a wanker, :smt019, with comments like that!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smt017

As to the AF1 site not being friendly to newbies.........you have to be kidding! Every newbie gets a formal WAFO, or WAPO, without hesitation.....not that I like that, but it is a JOKE, after all, and from my experience only 1 or 2 people have taken offence at it, until it's been explained to them what it in actual fact it says!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just stay on this site, don't venture out and become worldly, be insulated, and just keep up with the soccer results. I'm sure you'll be just fine on your own! :smt097

Go back through all of your 45+ posts and see what you've contributed from knowing jackshite about this bike! It's very enlightening!!!!!!!!

As to coming back and offering advice over here, well if I see the need to add some stuff, then I obviously will, but I find this site a bit too insular, whereas the Af1 site actually has a more worldly feel about it. More riders from further afield countries, not just the British Isles!!!!

Strewth cobber, I thought that was the end of it. Anyway, I'd firstly like to thank you for taking the time to go back and for re-reading all my nonsense 45-odd posts, thanks for taking the time but you do really need to get out more. I'd also point out that I don't put myself forward as being the all-seeing-eye on all things Aprilia, although some quite obviously do, so my advice and comments are based on nothing more than my random imagination. Perhaps if I'd spent every waking minute in the garage with the bike and had nothing else in my life then perhaps I could too impart some of that really, truly useful info. Truth be told, the bike forms only a small portion of my existence, which I suppose is a bad thing, right? And to be honest, I'd much rather spend my time with a group of Brits with a decent sense if humour.....

How in the name of whoever does posting on another site make you 'worldly'? The definition I found was "of or pertaining to this world as contrasted with heaven" So by your rationale if I invest some time in AF1 then I'll become a more grounded and earthly human being? Thanks for the nod, but I'm happy just keeping up with the football results and will continue to do so as long as you keep cutting yah mullet, drinking tinnies and filling up yah V8 Holden. Don't forget to put on your John Farnham CD as well......don't blame the messenger either, you dragged in the stereotypes.......Off for a cup Earl Grey and to read some prose before luncheon, ma' lord.

The phrase is 'jackshit' by the way.......It's also called football, we're not American.

And yeah, I know I'm a twat, I hold my hand up :smt006
