My oldest daughter is now 35 the middle one is 31 and the youngest is 14 going on 25 and I dropped my tea this morning when she asked me how many women I have been to bed with before marrying her mum and all whilst opening her Valentines day cards.

I feel about 80 now. :smt012

A few days for the poll to run but it's clear we're a bunch that gives the lie to the oppinion that you're guaranteed to die young if you ride a bike.

If we assume the average age of each of the age-bands is mid-way (eg average age in the 31 to 40 band is 35), then our overall average age so far is just over 41.

.... so, ride safe and let's continue to push that average!

Seems to me the average is 1.

60-21 =39, divided by 39 = 1 :smt002 :smt005

Hey Gio, did you do Maths at school?!

Even if you want to take the mean of the whole age-group, the average age will be 39 (by definition) .....

.... and many thanks to you - we're all absolutely delighted that you've knocked a couple of years off of each of our ages.

When I went to school 39-39 was 0.

I wonder if 'definition' is a mathematical term :smt017

Yep - when I went to school, in arithmetic 39-39 was (and still is) 0.

Also, fascinatingly, 39x39/39 = 39

And, back in those days, a lot of mathematical proofs relied on definitions .....

Do we need to ask Kwackerz to create a Maths forum to debate this - I've just a tiny suspicion we're getting ever so slightly off topic here .....

Just been thinking about this, surely it depends on how long people have been riding?

My thoughts too Gio,
How about a poll based on Years riding?
Personally, in the last 26 yrs I've been bikeless for only 6 months :smt004
