Which tyres?

well had the Diablo Stradas on for 90 miles now (3 legs to/from work) and I have to say I am very surprised at how good they are in comparison to the straight Diablos.
The bike feels very planted and are far better in the wet than any tyre I have had on any bike before. Bit of a fish tail under rear braking in dry conditions this morning but that was my fault as they aren't scrubbed enough yet.
£145 delivered, bargain
I have a 190/55 rear as that was the size of the Diablo that was on before.
Nice recommendation D-Rider, cheers

rotorvating an old thread...
...but I am looking for some new rubber for the Falco and have experience with the following on my previous bikes:
Metzeler somethings on my Fazer 600
Dunlop Roadsmart on Fazer 600
Bridgestone BT021 on Bandit 600
Michelin 2CT on Bandit
and now Michelon pilot sport on my falco
I'm interested in going for sportier rubber, and am looking at diablo strada or rosso... what are the main advantages/disadvantages of these two types of pirelli?

Well I've decided to opt for some Diablo Rosso's... will get them fitted next week for £196 all in... seems quite competitive so looking forward to trying out my new rubber.
Oh and I decided on the 180/55 and not 190/55... I just cannot see how the extra width of the 190 is going to fit next to the chain!

Yeah I'd second their grumpy nature... been there twice before for some dunlops and then michelins and both times they gave the impression they'd rather be down the pub... thats why I only take the wheels in now to avoid any damage or incorrect chain tension...

Ok so I've been waiting for their Diablo Rosso delivery and its been delayed by two weeks again! So I've been offered Angel ST or Diablo Rosso Corsa.
Am I right in thinking Angel ST replace Strada (so sport touring) and Diablo Rosso Corsa replaces Corsa III (sportier rubber)?
Both £213 a pair... just need to decide which ones to go for... I'm generally a fair weather rider, averaging 4k miles over the past three months...

I've heard good things about the Angels but I'd probably go for the rosso corsas if I couldn't get the straight rossos.
Sportier than the rossos but whereas the rossos are single compound, the rosso corsas are dual compound so there shouldn't be a huge penalty for the cornering grip .... other than price.
That said if you know someone who will fit tyres for you that you haven't bought from them, these look a good buy (the rossos in particular):

Yep, got these fitted recently, 4000 miles later I'm seriously liking them.D-Rider wrote:I've heard good things about the Angels
My previous combo of a Pilot power front and Pilot road2 rear didn't work that good with me.
The tyres look, hmm... steeper than other ones, they are easy to tip in and hold the lean in the corner. Didn't have much chance to test them in the wet, but in the quick showers I've encountered they've performed fine.
They have about 1k motorway miles on them, but haven't squared much.
I've got a 1k trip coming up, see how they perform :)
Having said that, I am waiting for Old Git's view's on the Storm Ultra 2's

Yep .... that's what I made it ..... be rude not to at that price .....mangocrazy wrote:The prices at Discountmotorcycletyres.com are exceptional for the Rossos...
Pirelli Diablo Rosso 120/70/ZR17 - £78.00
Pirelli Diablo Rosso 180/55/ZR17 - £98.00
Buy a par and save £7...
By my reckoning that's £169 a pair...!
