Hi all,

I'm looking at chopping in my 2004 Honda CB1300, and getting a Falco of similar age/value. Obviously going via a dealer means I will be paying for the privilege. If anyone is interested in a swap, with money in either direction if appropriate, then please get in touch.

The CB is red/white naked, 23k miles in decent condition, worth in the region of £3200 - 3400.

Cheers, Sam

You'll never find a falco worth that much on an 04 plate.

By now, chances are it's been fitted with a Mille swingarm, Mille Shock, probably been anglegrinded somewhere and although it looks pretty, probably is worth about 2.5k

Better off sticking with the Honda and pretending it's not worth much...

thatll teach yer to mock the stumpy one...truth hurts!

ypur only jealous because your short stumpy pins mean you can't ride one - well not with out stabilisers anyway

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

See what offers come up. A low miler with an upgraded shock and a pair of Akras sounds like a nice prospect. The other bikes that were tempting me were a SuperDuke or a 950 SuperMoto, but that would mean me stumping up a load of cash, so the Falco seems like a good bet. I'm too soft for a Mille :smt001

Finally, I have some pics. Sorry, been very busy lately. This is the beast (not particularly well cleaned here, I should add, the header pipes will go back to shiny when I'm done). Condition is generally good as I've looked after it; pearlescent paint still looks lush, full service history with much maintenance from myself also. Only niggles are some rust on rear springs (I was going to get them powder coated black, but haven't got round to it), and some slight signs of winter on lacquered alloy engine casings. Tyres are Pilot Road 2s with little wear to them, chain and sprockets have only done about 5k, originals managed about 18k so no worries there.

I was planning to sell the trick bits separately, but it depends what deal can be struck really. Extras currently on the bike are:

Staying on:
- stainless engine casing bolts
- polished stainless front caliper bolts and handlebar mounting bolts
- brighter xenon bulbs

Negotiable (I have OEM kit for this stuff):
- stainless rad guard
- Akrapovic road-legal carbon can
- black Renthal ultra lows (flatter, straighter and wider than original bars)
- R&G crash bungs
- adaptor kit for Abba stand (if you happen to have one then we could swap adaptors)

In case you spotted them, there are Oxford heated grips on - I will keep these for my next bike unless you really twist my arm.

I realise the CB is of slightly higher value than similar age Falco, so for a straight swap I would be looking for a good example, preferably with some nice upgrades, but I would also consider trade + cash for a lesser example.

All enquiries welcomed!

Just to plug the deal (and present a slightly less biased review from non-Falco owners :smt001 )

CB1300 is ranked #1 for quality and reliability on the MCN review site:

Right, change of plan, I'm gonna do a p/x.... for a 950 Supermoto. All the hype in the magazines has finally persuaded me that the light and agile KTM must be the most fun on 2 wheels. I guess I'll be needed my padded cycling shorts for touring :smt001

That's a fairly drastic rethink. :smt003
