Meet up at Newark
When we first talked about a meet it was just me and fastasfcuk talking about getting together when I got my bike back on the road. Things quickly expanded with Falken and Loafersmate interested, but all still quite local. We never really talked it through fully, but I think the general idea was we'd probably meet up have a chat and maybe have a run out somewhere like Willingham if the weather was OK.
Now it's expanded, many more people are talking about coming and there seem to be two different ideas. Most, more local, people probably fancy a run out. Others, possibly thinking of coming from places like Cheshire or Suffolk, probably think a 200 mile round trip is enough and just want a meal and a chat before they set off home, can't blame em!
What do the rest of you think?
Early March ain't really a good time for long trips, could be bloody snowing, (with current forecasts), or worse than that, weather could turn really bad late in the day before people set off back over Pennines or whatever!
One Idea might be to have this meet as a relatively local one, meet up and have a run if OK. Then organise a 2nd meet a bit later, like late April when weather might be more likely to be OK for the bigger meet. Could even have this second meet somewhere else fairly central, like maybe Matlock.
Again any thoughts?
Finally I suppose we could just wait and see what the weather is like nearer the day, get together at Newark and have a chat. Ultimately those with long trips home could set off back and the others could have a run out to somewhere like Willingham, before going home.
Don’t want to disappoint anybody, so get back with your thoughts. I’ve just got a feeling we might be in for a few weeks of rough weather, (ITN News just forecasting worst snow for 10 years as I type this in!), and I’m just a bit worried about people travelling long distances at this time of year.

I'd plan on what ever you, fastasfcuk and co were planning on - those coming from further afield can either join in, or make their own plans for the trip too/from the meet - maybe plan on a couple of hours where there will be a "meet", then everyone heads of in whatever direction they choose after that. A blast out would be nice, but just as good is meeting you all
, kicking tyres etc

Now there's no excuse for that!fastasfcuk wrote:it's bad when you can't get to the pub.
It's virtually all gone this morning, after an evening of snowballs, snowmen, sliding cars. I couldn't believe how many people think that revving the nuts of the car and wheel-spinning all the way up a hill is the best way of travelling in snow.

Hi guys my first post
Since i live in Lincoln i will try to get for this one cos i havn't had the pleasure of meeting any of you lads.
Howard i'm surprised you've never seen me at willingham woods as i'm quite a regular there during the summer months.
Maybe we'll bump into each other more this year.
I ride the fast one.............It's black
(groan not the colour argument again)
By the way whats the average age of falco riders as i think i'm on the young end at 31.
Weather permitting see ya there
Ben

I have been to Willy woods before, did my first Falco Wheelie there LOL.
When is the date?, 4th March?, I might make it, its a good 2+ hours for me from Watton, so weather/work depending.
Would there be anyone coming from the East/East Anglia?, if so, it would be nice to arrange meeting up somewhere closer and riding up together.

See earlier comments, idea is we meet up at the Barge at Newark at lunchtime, some people coming some distance 200 mile plus round trip, will probably go home from there by about 2 ish, rest of us will probably head for Willingham via Gainsborough, (weather permitting). then break up there and head off home.the duke wrote:Since i live in Lincoln i will try to get for this one cos i havn't had the pleasure of meeting any of you lads.

As for the colour discussions, you won't get an argument from me!

Not say too much about the age thing as I'm an old fart, but prob average is early to mid forties, I am one to balance up the younger end like you!
More info on the meet up once a few more people have let us know their views, see my last post re split thinking on this issue.
Will look out for you at Willingham!
Hi Howard,
Is this The Barge that you were saying we should meet at?
Castle Barge, Newark
From what sort of time were you planning to meet up .... I know you said lunchtime but I guess it would be good to estimate a time window that people will probably be there.
Cheers!
