well, I can announce that the indicators are all done - integrated into tail cluster and looking nice imho
Just torqued up the front brakes to get ready for bleeding - new steel lines and wavey disks
back wheel is back and is ready for its new wavey disk and steel line
(Don't ask - lets just say USE A TORQUE WRENCH...)
Clutch line is in, but.... my new mpl clutch does not fit..... buggered if i know why, but I have to say I am impressed with MPL... I called them in germany, and got no answer - bugger it I thought, must have closed for the day... I sat there typing an email and then the phone rang - it was a lovely lady called christine from MPL who apologised for missing my call and how could she help.....
Now I have no idea why not - seems to be the right part, but the housing is too low if that makes sense - the other give away to me is that it would fit under the falco sprocket cover.... not the shiny new tuono one i have on order...
anyway, back to fettling - and yes, I will post some pictures later... if i get it done tonight bar the clutch!

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Andy - Big girlie kisses :)
I attacked the old cylinder with some degreaser, and then it parted....
so - all being well, tomorrow I will finish putting the bird back together
then I will clean and wax/polish
then I will photo her

Sounds as though "The Spanner" has got himself well and truly dizzy!
(Glad we sorted it Pete)

Be sure to include lots of pictures of where you've put varios bits of the HID set up, that's a fair amount of cabling to hide

actually mate, it isn't
strip off the fairing and remove the old dip bulb.
now, offer up the new hid bulb and secure it - the original spring holds it in place nicely
before you go any further, lay the cabling out and do all your connections - then try the light - i made a basic error at first and this stops it happening :)
now, the ballest. As you look from the front of the bike, look at underneath the instrument cluster. There is a nut in the centre - oner of three - undo that nut and the upper part of the ballest bracket goes on there, and the lower part goes to the right as you look from the front of the bike.
The round bar that has the weight of the front fairing is what I used to anchor the rest of the ballast bracket - two cable ties did the job for me, though I did contemplate a jubilee clip but decided that was over kill.
Once ballast is mounted, check the light is still working. All that spaghetti can be rolled back on itself and folds down to a small roll - and two more cable ties hold that nicely onto the left side of the round fairing bar
BEFORE you tighten any of the cable ties up, offer up the whole of the fron fairing - it is a little tight and having wires trapped or pinched is a no no....
And sorry, I cannot really show you any phots ... I have it all together now :)
(I may strip the fairing off for a respray/tough up - if I do I will photograph the ballest etc)
Even though it is not clean yet, I am going to shoot a few photos off - I have changed a few things around, and people may well be interested....

ok, here we go
my garmin is now mounted nicely - using the extra height of the double bubble screen means I could fix it to the top of the dash - much better I think

Simple view from the side - but you can see a few new additions

This season, I have put some stickers on the belly pan - no reason bar I could, and I thgt it might be quite nice to willy wave with some of the bits.... so, Power Commander, HEL, Club Aprilia, Scottoiler and AF1 are there .... they may drop off soon though!
You can see that I have radiator grills fitted - but while fettling with some spare grille mesh, I made a section to go in front of the front cylinder... just looks tidier I think
You can also see the new front blister indicators, but this view is better:

But what about the rear cluster..... excuse the poor picture - the sunshine makes the bulbs appear a lot dimer but:

I like that - it just keeps everything together - I may add another blister on the tail piece, but we will see
Almost done now - just the front and rear wavey disks:

and

My last fettle was a strage one - and possibly not to everyones taste
I rate a Scottoiler, but they are unsightly and can spray a lot of crap over your back wheel....
I got curious as to why it has to be on the back sprocket... apparently you could make a mistake by fitting one to the front sprocket and it could dump a volume of oil in front of the back wheel.... personally I think there is more chance of kevein keegan becoming Newcas.... cough.. I think it is rare anyway
So:

This is the view from the left of the bike, looking forward - you can just see how I have run the oiler through to the front sprocket - so no visible tubes etc :)
***
not a bad weeks fettle - just have to clean the little darling now, then get her dynoed....
