Unfortunately people seem not to be taught about responsibilities and so we just have an excess of laws instead.
I would never dispute anyone's right to pedantism, after all I like to be pedantic too so it's important to me!

What has generally been lost sight of is that you can't have rights without responsibilities - ie, there's nowt wrong with having a right to smoke if you act responsibly and don't force your smoke on others.
