We could let you say more - maybe even a whole paragraph if it makes it more worthwhile for you ....

Just found out that it's the 50th birthday celebrations for one of my very bestest mates on 22nd March, so I think it highly unlikely that I'll be in a suitable state to ride a motorcycle the day after.

Sorry. But needs must, I'm afraid...

Not sure how many we have for this, last count looks like Me, Howard and Nicketynoo. DR was a maybe.

We'll see what happens next week and make a decision on Friday.

and maybe Greg (if he can make a speech)

BTW I'm in - depending on parent and in-law care. None of them are that good at present and my mother in law has been in hospital for the past couple of weeks so we're spending a lot of time back and forth to Reading.
I've earmarked the day for the rideout but late changes to parents' health or who is looking after them may get in the way.

I'm a possibility too. If it's a nice day a probability.

Really sorry Dave, but I am not going to be able to make it.
It’s sad, as I organised the first one and have always been involved, but a number of things have caught up with me. I have been very busy working on the house since October, what with the extension and major refurbishments going on. I have put in a lot of work myself, which has been harder than I thought, especially having suffered with Arthritis for 35 years. Spending hours on my hands knees rubbing down and painting skirting boards and painting ceilings etc., plus loads of other work has been a pain, literally. Seriously been feeling my age lately, and some days ended up not even able to walk on my worn out left ankle.
I am in my 50th year biking and have always ridden all year round, but I have not been on a bike since late October, the 9R MOT ran out in January and not got around to sorting it, although both bikes are taxed and insured! They are both at the back of the garage covered in builder’s dust. I decided I had to get the Falco out this weekend and give it a good going over before the meet, but then had a major problem.
Terri’s sister has just moved up here from Kent, (near to where her older sister now lives in the Barnsley area), so we decided to go and see their new house and go out for a meal on Saturday. Don’t know the area too well so decided on a “pub meal” and found a “Brewer’s Fayre” place nearby. Got there about 6.30 pm, so thought it wouldn’t be too busy, but no chance for over an hour so left. Walking down the path from the entrance to the car park, there was a narrow drop kerb at the end, Terri (my wife) was over on the left wing chatting with her sisters and did not notice that the drop kerb had ended, just leaving a high kerb. She tripped down the kerb and went head first into the car park road with a loud crack. She was out for about a minute and bleeding quite badly, where her brand new glasses had smashed into her face, cutting her badly around the top and side of her eye. We could not risk moving her so she ended up laying here in the road for almost 30 minutes, until a Paramedic and later an ambulance arrived and decided she could be moved. She was taken to A&E at Rotherham at about 7pm and there we stayed for six hours. She was suffering from shock, concussion, a bad cut around the eye, serious bruising to her face, hip and many other areas, plus a hairline fracture to the cheek bone below the eye socket. I was there till after 1am (through the normal Saturday night A&E pantomime). She was eventually admitted and I got home about 2am. They eventually let her out late Sunday afternoon, so she is now home, but pretty beaten up not feeling too well as the bruises come out.
I obviously need to look after her so can’t see me getting much done on the Falco, and would not want to leave her on her own next weekend.
I know that others on here have suffered much worse problems, and she will be fine in a few weeks, but it was a major shock to see the love of your life in this state.
Sorry I won’t be there, but hope the weather stays as good as it has been for the last week or so.

Terrible news, Howard. Hope that Terri heals quickly and completely and that no lasting harm has been done. Sounds like a bit of a disaster evening all round...

Ouch. I hope the Mrs gets well soon mate.
Is there any chance we could move the date of this meet up. Myself. Graham and Howard can't make it.
Would it be ok? :smt008

Sorry to hear of your problems and we all have other priorities from time to time. It's ok with me if the meet is moved but I'd not be able to make the following weekend, as we've already booked a family meal on the "Mothering Sunday".

No big deal, just let us know.
