Yep, me too. It'll be interesting to see what comes of it all (higher re-sale values perhaps?)
The ride is the reason ........ the destination is just the excuse.

Yep - had the mail too along with the request to frighten the readership with a photo. Having got in MCN with someone else's picture last year I wonder what to try for this year.

Actually, I may send in one of the pics from our wet weekend in the borders last year with a whole flock of falcos and riders (and not a yellow one amongst them!) .... once I've airbrushed it a bit to give me the figure I'd like rather than the one I have .....

I can't disappoint Emma Franklin after she's e-mailed me and asked for my picture ......

We'd better make sure that we don't all choose the same picture of someone else to send in!

BTW just picked up a new copy of RiDE this lunchtime - it says the Rider Power results will be out in next month's magazine.

So who's going to get their words in print then? I've also replied to the email with the stupidest picture of me I have. I wondered what the other catagory was, but assumed it was a typo or something.

It is interesting, cos I had a bit of a (tongue in cheek) go at Ben last year, because it didn't get a mention in the Sports Twin class, if it had, it would have walked that class. The Honda VTR 1000 SP2 won the this class and that came 33rd overall. Seems it was not sporty enough to be considered in this class.
The Falco did get a really good 18th overall and was in front of the Triumph Sprint ST, (20th overall), which came 2nd in the Sports Tourer class, seems it was too sporty to be considered for the Sports Tourers.
If it had been allowed into these two classes it would have had a 1st and a 2nd.
Seemed it was suffereing as it always has since it was introduced, none of the mags ever new which class it was in, so they hardly ever tested it when it was new. Aprilia did not help as they never pushed it as a cheaper alternative sports bike against the RSV and the RSV-R and they had the Futura as the Sports Tourer, so nobody new how to class it and the buyers ignored it.
It is only recently that Ride, Bike and MCN have started to rave about it in road tests of used bikes.
Probably the best being Mike Armitage in Bike who decided it was the probably most underated bike of all time in his Feb. 2006 test!
Let's hope we get some good class positions this time. Ben said he'd try to get it considered and it sound like he's got a result if it's done well in two classes. Keep your fingers crossed! :smt001

I sent this one:

For any that have not met us, left to right:
Me, Goldie, Falcopops, Keith (now known as His Knibs), DavShill, Tweaker

.... tried to explain that I was, in fact, wearing a new, patented stomach protector when the photo was taken.

I did think hard about sending in this one "featuring" Goldie:
