What have you been smoking this time .............Aladinsaneuk wrote:The marzocchi does not click - just seems to turn
It's a SHOCK Pete, they go at the BACK of the bike and I've never known anyone fit a Marzocchi shock to a Falco.
I think you are talking about FORKS which go at the FRONT of the bike ..... but are not part of this discussion ........... (and although it's a long time since I've adjusted Marzocchi forks, I think the damping adjusters do click)
I knew it was a delusion when he said he was in charge at the old folks home .... it's clear he's just one of the in-mates.
Yes Pete, you've had your tea ..........

Some one is telling porkies....I spoke to the guys there and they confirmed its a gas shock which contains no oil, it even states this in the shock body "gas shock do not open"

the plot thickens, he told me this was a spare shock and was exactly the same as the one he had on his Falco (The shock i bought is a yellow spring sachs unit).
However here is his for sale thread on RSVR.NET

Notice the shock?
He sent me this when I asked about linkages.

I already had one fitted to my Falco and had this one overhauled as a spare. I can only say that as the old one fitted and that was from a Mille as well then this one should fit.

Well that's all a bit odd.
The couple of times I've met Westy, he's seemed a good straight up kind of guy.
I'm not sure how technically astute he is on these things - so maybe that's the issue.
The shock on the bike is clearly a White Spring job (which would use Falco linkages)
Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I would feel that he has got confused into thinking both shocks are the same - when clearly they aren't.
All shocks that I know of that are fitted to the Falco (OE fit and aftermarket) are oil damped with gas cells for the reasons you describe. The majority (basically just about everything except the OE Blue Spring Thing) has a gas reservoir.
If it's leaking oil, it's leaking oil - end of story.
