Congrats Will !! :smt038 :smt023
It sounds brilliant, and so much better than I remember my old T110 sounding all those years ago.
It sounds really tight and sweet as a nut.
The tappets sound perfectly adjusted and the cans make it even better.
It was well worth the efforts you put in, you should be really proud.
It has been an absolute pleasure to watch your efforts and hearing it start up and run so well has topped it all off perfectly.

Thanks for all the positive words peeps. I'm glad you've all enjoyed it. There will be another 'resto' coming along in a few months time. The BMW R100T will be getting similar treatment.

As for the Triumph, I've still a little more fettling to do then she'll be ready for the road. Am aiming to have her tested and taxed tomorrow at some point, then I can start munching those running-in miles up. Thursday, we head to Inverness. :smt003

A few more pictures to follow.. But the surroundings will be a little different. :smt002

The motor looks to have loads of compression with the kick back will.
I think you have done an amazing job mate. Well done :smt023

Sounds (and looks) great. Sounds nicely tight and crisp. A few decent trips (and plenty of heat cycles) and it'll be stormin'...

Finally got her ready for MOT tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens. Now comes the boring job of running in. "They" say after about 50 miles, it's done. I'll go to 100, drop the oils and re-torque up etc. Missing a speedo at the moment, but should be picking one up tomorrow.. A little trip in to deep dark Warwickshire will sort me a custom made cable.

Over the years I've re-built many old Triumphs from the ground up. Countless motor refurbs and never ending servicing. For once, it's nice to work on a bike knowing I get to reap the rewards that follow. There are those out there that will hate it because it's not original, and I really can't wait to tell um where to shove their snooty noses. There are plenty of really nicely restored examples around to gawp at, but (from what I'm told) they were never like that in their day. Like now, people modify and adapt their machines to suit them and their tastes.. So if anything, my bike is more in tune with the period than anything original.

I'm glad you've all enjoyed this little escapade and hope you've learnt a little along the way.. Mostly how brand new pattern parts don't bloody fit! haha

Until the next time. :smt002

At the end of the day you've restored a classic, made it usable, saved it from being a donor bike, so from a bike lovers perspective you have scored max points with bonus points.
