Sadly your bike is way ahead of mine in the fix-what-was-not-quite-up-to-par-from-birth race... Apart from - does it charge sufficiently??
Apparantly so - but I will still do the wiring mod to the connectors

Thanks you everyone for the welcome - seems that between here and the other forum there are plenty of people who know these bikes well.

I'm up in NW England if anyone in the area fancies a ride out soon?

Cheers, Paul

Get your arse and drinking liver to mallory to meet a few folk

Bring your credit card - you may have a few ideas....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

It's a special meeting they've put on to welcome me back from Japan - I arrive home sometime on the Saturday and will probably put in my appearance on the Sunday - as they've gone to all that trouble on my behalf.

They've arranged for famous ex-racers to turn up and plenty of classic racing bikes.

The infamous wiring mod

Loved by USA riders and futura owners (who defi Italy do need to do it btw)

Some of us are not convinced - I swear by an optimate and have no desire to try the wiring mod

In fact, I think that less than five here - falco owners - have done it....

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.

Yeah but Mille owners think they mod their bikes by changing the screen tint and fitting rear sets

Tim has bucked the trend with those easy mount steps

Is it true that he is fitting one of those kids inflatable slides as an emergency escape? :smt017

i can see a trend here

and we know that the 70's porn star was not tim

the other people in the film were a normal height so even if they were sitting down the hobbit did not have to dance on the table to give them a leathering....

Costs no money to raise the rear ride height (if your shock allows) and to drop the forks through the yokes. (5 rings showing should be sufficient). After that it's a matter of fine tunning IMNSHO.
Do you have the original rider height so I can compare against? - my Falco apparantly has a Mille shock fitted so I'm not sure if it sits the same as stock.
Can't remember exactly what the height is, but when I first fitted my White Spring Mille shock, I set it just a bit higher than standard to see how it felt and it was very close to minimum extension on the ride height adjuster at the bottomof the Mille shock. So if it's been adjusted it's probably set higher, which is no bad thing and will help it turn in better.
Obviously it is up to you how far you go (and how long your legs are), and also how far you have dropped the front end through the yolks. I later raised mine a little more, but nothing to radical.

I've done it. It made a huge F-ing improvement to the voltage at the battery terminals, too.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.
