From my (limited) experience of screens with the Futura, I'd go for Pyramid Plastics rather than Skidmarx - had one from each - PP fitted better, & was more substantial

Not trying to change your mind but would be really interested to hear your gripes with Ohlins.

Enjoy your fettling.

First things first a big thanks to Nooj who has managed to get me re-instated on the forum due to my inability to remember passwords and email addresses.

Ok the items I was after have all amazingly appeared on ebay over the last few days so I will be chasing these.
This list covers my screen, rear seat cowl (x2), handbook and possibly the Nitron shock.

I have seen this

Has anyone bought or used these?

I also bought these in lieu of Fuel cans

With regards to the Ohlins questions it seems that reading my post back it is misleading. It does not state I have an Ohlins shock however it could be read that I have and don't like it. I do not have an Ohlins shock on my falco but my previous experience with Ohlins shocks is limited to the standard equipment supplied on higher spec bikes and to be honest it just seemed to be low spec equipment sprayed gold and charged accordingly. I'm sure that the expensive aftermarket Ohlins is a different kettle of fish but for me it's too expensive.

Not a belly pan I am familiar with - sorry

re the shock

I have always said that for the average rider, the original mille white spring sachs shock, generally available for around £50 and tghen refurbished for around 120 quid is the best solution all round

it is height adjustable, has ample adjustment and does not need any major fettling bar a recessed valve being fitted as a part of the refurb - it also uses the standard triangles etc.

I have never used a nitron shock, BUT - you do get what you pay for - ie, to get a good nitron shock, with the required adjustments you have to spend a bit if you are buying new..... and once you get into that territory then i would go for a refurbed ohlins

In my experince, the mille specific ohlins have been better quality overall than the equivalent sachs units. The aftermarket ohlins are lovely - my one with the remote preload is that lovely my trousers get tight :)

(And hands up who'se eyeballs have been seared by a mental image??!!)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

It's all the pies you eat.

I have an Ohlins from a Mille - it was almost brand new when I bought it.
I think it is excellent (I passed on a "first dibs" offer to buy the one that Aladin eventually acquired as I was plenty impressed by the "standard" Ohlins I have)

I can't compare with a range of others as I think few have a really wide experience of different ones on the same bike - but I really am more than happy with the one I have. It made a huge difference to the bike - far moreso than the Ohlins forks.

Nice.

You weren't lucky enough to get the SL chip with them too were you?

chip.
Need? They do I think orinally come with a chip. I ran the supplied chip for a number of years and then replaced with a Gabro. Both work well but the Gabro chip has an advance curve (again I think) which makes it a little smoother on pickup from low revs. I think (again) the standard chip might be a little lean for them.

And so it begins, the spiral into more and more mods, leading to inevitable debt...

Gabro FTW though, he'll do you an EPROM for around €75 or so, less if you get him with one of his sales. Although you may want a modded airbox before you get the chip :smt003
