From what Fatboy is saying, its not that his mate is "responsibly" managing the risk but it sounds as though he's either unaware or just doesn't give a flying f###.
Well that's the feeling I've got from reading from our own chap who knows what makes his mate tick.
Now that's a reasonable argument and one I'm comfortable with. Simply calling a guy a knob without ever having met him isn't. Even if he is.

There are many reasons why people do certain things but you'll tend to find that most of the show offs on bikes are attention seekers. This may be because they feel lonely or inadequate, or maybe their Mummies don't love them as much as ours do. Or maybe they're bloody good riders. This guy is certainly painted as a bit of an idiot by fatboy, but then so is the guy doing the burnout to someone elses bike. Not something I would do without permission. Particularly if it leads to the tyre being down to the wire. As for the owner of the bike, who then rode it seemingly without a care for his own or others safety, has anyone asked him why he did it? And I'm not saying the 'Oi Dickhead why the f**k are you doing that?' approach either. Maybe he has underlying reasons for being like he is which, with a bit of help, could be resolved. I have to say that I've seen worse. And that I'm way too tired to debate the point tonight. :smt015

Falco, he did a 15 mile round trip on the bike today, same tyre, still same Golf waiting in the wings but no he rides his bike
he is fully aware of the state of the tyre but just had to show off how its gonna look with out the fairing when its ' fightered' and oh also had to buy some stamps
Rob, we all love to play when we ride but thankfully most of us have learned when it is safe to play and how to play safe
Of course its fun teasing car drivers....safely
Riding when you are down to the wire, knowingly, not once but twice ?????

Went racing as it's meant to slow you down on the road. Finished racing in 05 and 2 years later sold the TT600 as I hadn't slowed down and if anything had become lots faster. Got a moped.. which got tuned.. but still managed to get that to sit at the faster end of the expectations for that kinda PTW.. often seeing 60 on the clock (50cc BWS50 Yamaha with my fat erse on it) and with it being a 2t, never eased off for bends (only junctions) That got nicked and with the payout I bought the Vespa P200.. which again sat at the higher end of the spectrum for that type of machine. I do have mechanical sympathy for what I drive/ride but will happily take it to near it's limit but not over it intentionally..Always ride/drive defensively though. For sure i've driven cars with battlefield repairs.. have done ever since i was a kid when i'd retread tyres on my paper round with innertubes cut and glued on, etc, smaller wheels and whatever else, but never done anything too bad on a car or motorbike where safety comes into it. Not cos im a safety nazi, far from it, but there's pushing the envelope and there's ripping the fekker right open.. Riding on down to the wire tyres on a 50cc is dangerous, a 750cc hypersports? pure fekkin suicide.

He's a prick but, and don't take this the wrong way, it's his life and he's obviously in need of attention which you're giving him.

Have you actually fronted him up with regard to all of this or just posted on an internet forum? If the former what was his answer/reaction? What are his real reasons for doing what he does? have you asked him?

And there's no such thing as teasing car drivers safely. We just think we're invincible until it happens. Ask the idiot I nearly took out because he decided it was a good idea to use my lane to overtake in whilst going round a bend. He's lucky I was driving and not my missus. He'd have needed more than a change of underpants then.

YES I replied
He said I need to do the California Superbike thing
I said do an advanced rider course and learn the consequences of your actions

Advanced trainIng?

How about getting the basics first

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I fear some people will never grasp the basics, regardless of the chats we have about bein a complete cock when riding. And driving, and driving an HGV
I cant help it is the answer that seems to justify it for him, not for me,
on rare occaisions he will admit the danger he poses to other road us ers,
selfish childish ignorant twat, still a mate but I struggle with that these days
