Am I showing my age if I say itwas a Mk2 Fiesta?
Like that one but rustier. When I wanted some welding done for an MOT the guy had to weld a bit on to weld the rest to, following year I took it for a couple of tyres and an MOT to be asked "do you really want us to put the tyres on this?"
Racing is life - anything before or after is just waiting.

I took an old Cortina (Mk3 I think) to a garage for an estimate to repair a door someone had reversed into - garage bloke took one look and said 'not worth repairing'.
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

Mine was a Triumph Herald 1360 convertible. Holes in the floor and I crashed it twice and fitted a whole new front end (from the scrap yard) on both occasions. I loved that car.
Then traded up to a Mk11 Ford Capri 1600 GTXLR - Daytona yellow with a black vinyl roof..... and one of those long bendy ariels that attached to the front wing on a thick spring then went all the way to the rear of the roof............... oh and leopard print fury seat covers !!!
Then a Fiat 128 3P Berlinetta - really fast but a bad era for Fiat - Plastic starter motor internals used to shatter in winter and I always carried a spare clutch cable!
Then a lovely Dolomite 1850HL (could...... edit "couldn't afford a Sprint)

Audi 100 C2 Avant 1.6 in maroon and rust - it was my dad's car and he gave it to me as he had been offered a pants trade in value on it against his new car and I'd just started a mechanics course at tech and needed transport.
Before I could even pass my test I promptly wrote it off against a bank (side of the road type, not Lloyds, bent the chassis enough to make door-closing a knack rather than a given). I gave up driving cars for another few years and bought a motorbike instead, much safer

All those old cars... I learned to drive in one of these. Except ours was a rather faded purple colour.
A Holden HQ, built in 1972. 3.3 litre engine, 3-speed gearbox and enough room to carry 6 adults. No radio, no air-con, no power windows - just a big steel behemoth on wheels.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

In a mini
I want to see photos of him getting in!
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
