Just an observation ..... but being as the 2 zones are over heavily populated areas, isn't it a bit late to deal with something that doesn't want to play follow-my-leader or something?
...... unless Thunderbird2 is held as backup and can capture the offending aircraft and fly it off somewhere else .......

I think it's likely there may be one warning - then abrupt action
Oh - my cynical nature tells me this is a deliberat PR event
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I'd hate to think of the consequences. If they didn't want to play, I doubt there is much a Typhoon could do over the area without mass collateral damage occurring.

You wonder which would be worse:
A) let them hit the target ..... carnage .... terrorists get big blame .... UK security measures get some blame for not stopping them
B) shoot them out of the sky ..... carnage ..... terrorists get some blame .... UK security measures decried as completely irresponsible for bringing down something (that may or may not have been a terrorist) over a heavily populated area.
..... have they actually thought this through?

It'd do wonders for British Football...

Boom.. there goes Arsenal.. Crash.. Chelski...
But no it does sound somewhat irresponsible in theory. Hopefully the 'in practise' won't occur..

Ah yes - there are some expendable zones ..... though Biggles, Algy and Ginger would need to be very precise ....
I dare say that Wing Commander Raymond has it all under control
BTW Your beloved Norwich did well today - avoiding the humiliation of 7 being put past them ......
