Yes, but it'll be shyte. Not wanting to blow my own trumpet, but waterjet cutting is about the best for cutting aluminium. Can also be sheered, but leaves a rolled edge.

Angle grinder.. Yeh, spose ye could. Don't cut yourself on the burrs though. :smt003
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Wrong cutting disc..

Everything can be done using an angle grinder!

Apart from welding.

You need a 13mm spanner and a car battery for that..

Good selection of responses :smt005

I primarily want it for cutting 2mm ally sheets into the shapes of my rear light boards, so yes, cutting curves. But would like something that will cope with thicker stuff as and when.

Looks like I'll be needing to spend out on something decent then? Probably better off cutting them by hand still in that case.

I'm thinking of looking for someone to cut AND WELD an ally sheet to make a hard cover for my trailer.

No, NOT the one I'm using to take the trike to Scottyland, the one I shall be towing behind the trike for other rallies.

Yes, but won't be cheap. Send me a rough size or drawing and I'll get a price. It's a friend of mine who's pretty damn good at it. :smt001

When you say not cheap?????

Trailer is roughly 90cm x 111cm

Edit - as you were, I may have had an offer of a freebie!

No worries :-) Have a chat with Toph from Wiltshire Bikers ( I think you know him??) There's not much he can't weld.

I'll stick with my trusty hacksaw for now then. Takes a bit longer but still does the job.
