My old gaffer sold his immaculate R1. Bloke came down, looked at it, rode it, payed the money and arranged to pick it up at the weekend.

Gaffer rolls it out for the bloke to come. Tries to warm bike up. Bike don't go. Cue emergency charging, some shoving and an admission of defeat.

Many apologies when the guy turns up, never done it before, don't know what's wrong etc.

Bloke turns kill switch back to run - starts bike...

Just got off the phone with the guy. His cold start technique fried the spark plug, so problem solved. Did tell him this would be the cause yesterday, and he had pro motocross mechanics telling him otherwise, so it goes to show that sometimes RTFM really does work, and you shouldn't buy something without researching it first!

And the erm pro mechanic didnt try changing the plug ????

Maybe the buyer and the mechanic are related in that COUSINS SHOULDNT MARRY kind of way
