Really sorry to hear this as you thought it might have been better than the original assessment. If you're forced to have the op at least that will remove the problem of deciding!

As for benefits, you've earned them so do get everything you're entitled to - by the time you've jumped through all the hoops required by the benefits lot, you will definitely feel you've earned them!

I guess rehab after an op like that will take a while but after that, there are various part-time jobs around that you won't have even considered before, and you may be entitled to whatever they are calling DLA by then.. A biking friend who's been a truck driver and a paramedic and a factory worker is now stacking shelves in a supermarket - and loving it as it leaves him plenty of time for riding!

It's easy to produce common sense for someone else!

I was a mess 3 months ago with my bad back and not sleeping and thinking my rallying was at an end. Then I got my back (sort of) sorted and my outlook changed......
